There's no immediate financial benefit to the seller. Maybe the seller just bought too many from the artifact shop?

As for the buyer they could save that 25 gold and buy it for 2500 directly from the artifact shop.

i say you should better look the whole transfer log of this pal, he had quite nice income from lots of those bottles, eg
