my dark elf skil is lvl 1 and i need to get 1 defense why i dont get 1 defense?

#25 I got a faction skill level-up, but didn't get my +1 defense! What's going on?
Faction skill bonuses only affect creatures of that faction, therefore are granted to them, not to your hero.
