There is a disgustingly dishonest player here in LWM who has gone ahead and plagarized the entire Chronicles of Skunder on some game called 'Grepolis', not only posting it on another site, but saying it was THEIR work.
Not cool. |
i'd like to post the exact link to the site but unfortunately that's forbidden. if you'd like to see the ridiculousness PM and I will send the link to you... |
that is truly disgusting... |
wow...pretty lame. Why would anyone do such a thing -_- |
@4
Your derision is unwelcome. I would think FOR ONCE you could put your feelings of dissidence aside and possibly consider this as an affront to lordswm.com in general and not just "Skunder's writing project". It is a theft of the community as I see it.
...am i wrong?
...and if this is just a matter of you being sarcastic, then i would say it's vastly out of place. |
it starts with one and it can add up so everyone work is at risk |
for Skunder:
Take all the comments people posted on that forum as compliments to you
On-Topic this kid is retarded...:(
Sorry to hear this was stolen :'( |
@5
Stop being so insecure, Skunder...I meant what I said. It is pretty lame that someone would copy your stuff, and claim it as their own. |

Sorry, Skunder. I understand you are upset, and rightly so, but watch the profanity please. |
hmmm, as per post 9,
well, i would think that the word I used would fall into the cateogry listed for this thread and just thought i should write that it was for the person that plagiarized my work:
https://www.lordswm.com/forum_messages.php?tid=1882766
also should note that I wrote something on the side for Limus, which basically said to ask halvspak for the PM's we shared about this thread. Nothing bad...just unable to denote tone/cynicism through forum writing.
also a thanks AGAIN for diverse and luke who went and posted on the other game-site just to stick it more against this ...um... person. =P |
sux :( |
forgot also that in my post that was deleted that I posted that because of dishonest players like this I will not be doing a Chronicles of Skunder 2: In Death's Grip, as I indicated in the past.
Big thanks to the [guy] who stole the story. |
You shouldn't let the actions of one person take away the pleasure you get from writing your stories, Skunder. Who knows how many other people have copied your stories and claimed them as their own? It really sucks that guy jacked you, but in the end, the community here that reads your stuff is at a loss if you stop.
With that idea in mind I offer this advice: Quit because you no longer enjoy writing, and not because someone is trying to steal your passion.
Cheers |
I still quite enjoy writing, limus, which is why it's actually helpful that I won't be dividing my time with my day-to-day novel writing along with the CoS now (not that i dont want to, but it's a waste to continue writing for an online site with such leeches around).
can i say leech? =/
For those who have enjoyed the CoS then a quick thanks once again, and maybe you (the community) could enlighten the admins as to your wanting to see the CoS put into a novel where I can give it justice as actual novel form (as opposed to the chopped "forum-blog-form" I personally feel that i had to do for the site). I have gone to the admins before now to see if they would be interested in a novel series:
CoS: Kingdoms (intro to DE, elf, demon, wizard, knight- original CoS)
CoS: In Death’s Grip (introduction to necromancers)
CoS: Plague of the South (introduction to barbarians)
CoS: The Demon Uprising (final of demons)
and of course the long awaited:
CoS: Dwarven Invasion
but have gotten back nothing encouraging from them. Maybe for once - on this subject (as they'd be making money off it) - they would listen to the community. (?) |
Thats crazy, he didnt even come up with his own name for it and called it the Chronicles of Skunder. Only thing I can think is that he gains something as a few people have mentioned they repped him. Guessing this is reputation and the higher it gets the more benefit he gains. At least you found it relatively fast and it looks like he hasnt gained much from it, and now you have exposed him for the fraud he is.
I could see how this sort of thing would really get under your skin. But as upsetting as it is that somebody else has taken credit for your work it would be even worse if you allowed him to take the pleasure you get from creating future works. And you would be depriving all of us who have enjoyed your creativity and look forward to your new works.
I think limustudotcom is right, make your decision to create or finish CoS because you do or dont want to. Not because some slimy con-artist needs to pretend to be you to look cool. |
another player just alerted me of the same character and thinks he has actually figured who it is, and that he has copied the clan info for #488 and uses it as his own on the other gamesite...if you've been keeping up with this craziness and for some reason wish to see the url's of the 488 site and the opposing site just PM me. |
Considering the nature of what has happened, I have no qualms with you posting the link.
If a few people go to their forum and politely explain where the Chronicles of Skunder came from, I think that may be a good thing. Could also end up with a few people visiting LoWM whihc is a good thing.
Anybody who does decide to follow the link if Skunder posts it, please be civil, polite, and don't go on a forum flooding insult frenzy. |
The story has been deleted from the other site and the author has been punished by a mod/admin there. The community there acted responsibly when informed of the theft and took swift action. |
Hmm i also consider i found the person :
He has copied the description i had made for clan #488 :

The players in-game name in Grepolis is AnmolR , and he here is :
