You are getting mixed up
having gated troops, they don't give you exp, because they are not fully yours
Killing them, if you are the opposition, gives you exp, because you are killing more creatures |

I am not saying whether or not gated or raised gives exp
but
what I am seeing right now, looking at this topic as a whole, is that
1. RainB0w placed her argument with reasons (I am not saying that this reason is right or wrong)
2. Numbers of experienced players placed their argument with only claims (Thus still prone to the same counter argument) (Again, I am not here to support any sides since I don't know the answer myself and both sides doesn't have a definite proof at present)

where DarkSooth said that you would get 0 exp fighting (and losing to) a demon and killing (and damaging) only the gated unit
There is, however, no combat log to support this in the thread itself. Such battle would've been rare as damaging is very hard to prevent (retal. and all) if it is not a staged combat with the demon's opponent fighting with the intent to lose and not dealing any damage to the demon's real troop (since it would most likely to go against rule 3.16)
If anyone can enlighten me, and maybe others, on this claim that gated dont give exp with proofs or vice versa, then I would gladly appreciate it, as 'experience' in the game doesn't necessarily means knowledge in the game and, especially, its mechanics
I don't mean to be imperative here and I understand that the chances of finding the combat log like the one DarkSooth mentioned is very slim, let alone being the right one since the equation for exp you get in a combat is not even revealed, but I failed to find any official information stating that gated units does or doesn't give exp.
