PrtScr on its own takes snapshot of whole desktop

Pressing PrtScr only copies it to your clipboard. It does not show anything anywhere or display what it has done.
You then need to open a graphics software and paste the image from your clipboard into it. MS Paint will do for this if you dont have anything better installed. |

The try to find and press
'PrintScreenSysRq' and open paint , paste(Go to edit and there option to paste) |
