Last One said long out of date...

Just turned lvl 8 demon. Wanted to know what is better might or magic, both for pvp duels, and multi-person battles. What talents do you pick for each and what do you recruit for each? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I read all of it... no real help for my questions. Also, I couldn't ask my question in it because it was considered obsolete. So any help that could be offered here would be great thx.

gate Incendiaries, protect succubi, and take retails only from the skeleton stacks you intend to hit with your big stacks. every unit is useful to protect succubi.

Hi my fellow demons! do you guys have any ideas on troop setup / talents for Group battle in lv11?

In my opinion, Demon basically doomed because we dont have a strong pair of shooter/ long distance attacker. Other faction have Orc chief/Cyclop, GMB/Druid, Xbow/Monk, Skelbow/Lich, Shrew/Darkwitch, and Wizardhero with their deadly spell ;p

We've only got Cerb/Succubi, which is weak because cerb is such a glass cannon, only good for one attack and they're dead >.< if i gate in first turn, the number will be significantly reduced to none, lol..

So, any ideas? hehe, comments are welcomed ^^
0 succubi, all in melee units, I got 55038 points (12th wave). I have only 5 demon faction.

Sorry this is for tournament.
For group battle succubi is good if you have strong faction lvl, your gating is high, and your opponents must kill your succ or your cerb, this is winn-winn combination.

do you have any combat log of group battle? i need to see it myself to believe it, because in my game usually the 3 stacks of cerberi and 1 stack of succubi dies really fast ;p

Anyway, I've changed 8 of my basic parameters into 4SP and 4KN, and use dark magic talents ;p
first i try putting all my talent points in Dark Magic, but the result is very powerful Dark Magics but I have no attacking power whatsoever ;p Later, I combined the Advanced Dark Magic Talents and 1 type of dominion with Basic Offence and Battlefury. The damage still mediocre, but at least i still can help my mate pounding the enemies ;p

The choice of mass spell, however, is quite dependant on the enemy. Against Living creatures with strong ranged attack, dominion of mind is quite powerful, making the shooters loose their edge for 4 turns ;p but if the enemy is a wizard / necro / DE, this strategy doesnt work. Undead are not affected by mind spells, and DE / wiz form of ranged attack are different (shrews and magic).

Against DE or necro, dominion of curse is more useful, making the shooters loose 9 atk (advaced dark magic). But against wizard, i really dont know what is the effective way to beat them. Casting delay wasn't enough, so maybe disruption ray was better. I dont know, still have to do some research bout this ;p

Any thoughts or anything? just post it here ^^
The way to beat wizard is through might. Lots of spawns to transfer mana. Gate on first turn with all (besides succ) and overrun the place. Obviously the mages need to go first because that's their only ranged (unless they have gremlins, which isn't often). Gargs are slow, so with efficient tactics, this should be fairly easy.

lol,dont compare it to level 8 ;p on lvl11 wizards are very strong: miniarts bonus are like +6 atk/def, geenies is 16 while our horse are just 11, gargs number are like 70++ and very high def, can move very far across the field, modern golems cant be killed easily, magi are still annoying in small numbers.

Succubi HP's only 20 and easily targeted and killed. Cerberi HP's only 15. If they gate first, when they actually move the number is reduced to half. People tend to target cerberi first u know. And the max number of spawns in lvl11 only 58 => capped at 10 mana, + 7 mana from gated stack, so total is 17.
average wiz have about 50-70 mana I guess, and with that mana they can still throw fireballs or lightning to poor demon's troops. Demons troops are not that meaty compared to knight. Demon excell at speed and melee atk but lack defence and HP.

Well, that's just my opinion ^^

First off, get that faction lvl8 asap.

About darkness magic, you can obiviously forget about poison and confusion since most of wizards meat is immune to it.
Curse and weakness are also close to useless. Most of the wizards troops will probably cast, defend or run away.
slow helps keeping those gargs at bay, but since demon has great mobility, it isn't really usefull.
only disrupt ray left. This one can prove to be usefull, especially against the gargs. The good part is you need 0 SP. I would skip the mass talent for disrupt ray, since except gargs, there isn't much to disrupt. Without mass talent, 1-2 Kn should be enought.
Maybe try something like battle fury + adv darkness + basic luck.
I think the more classic (and more boring) pure offencive might works better against wizards, but it never hurts to try.

yes, faction level8 at combat lvl11 is a must i guess ^^ yeah, i do realize that disruption ray don't need any SP, but when i allocate my parameters to become a magic demon i wanted to try somethin else beside just whackin everythin with my troops :p so i still increase my SP, so I can try different builds. Maybe after I'm bored with this build, I'll reset my parameters and just use 2KN like u suggested and only use disrupt ray. thx 4 advice ^^

I play defensive

max prioroty: wolfs-imps-succ-demons for hunts
max prioroty: wolfs-demons-succ-then spawns(minim 4) for GB
i would argue that demons are more important than wolves in pvp

that is to say 1 wolf isn't worth 2 demons

i agree that for pve, wolves, imps/spawns are better
