Author | any and all loans are against the rule |
general rule 3.1.
It is forbidden to beg or to extort money from players (game finance, real finance).
according to this rule asking for a loan anywhere is forbidden, in chat, on forum, in a message, it doesnt specify. so anyone who has ever asked for a loan thru any channel has broken this rule, and should be punished. |
too much rule-reading will get you a headache *:o |
begging and asking for a loan isn't the same, so no, it shouldn't be punished, there should be a rule to make sure stupidity like yours could be punished though:) |
i thinnk this means to get money... and not give it back.
Going around asking if i can have 20k is illeagle, asking if someone will loan it too me is not |
And someone here is still bummed for closing his begging thread at forum and wants to desperately prove he is right.
You have to prove that the begging in pm offended someone and have been reported. Also there IS a penalty for excessing spaming and begging people. You should only ask for a loan from a friend.
Begging unknown people for gold and asking friends for loan isnt the same. |
*excessive |
Its sertain limit to give so loans good only to freinds thought need different ip address. |
Well before I've been offered a loan by someone, which is neither begging or extorting gold from them, as they offered it.
And simply asking isnt begging anyway, lets put some context into this:
Your boss asks you to send out some letters, does that mean he's begging you to send out letters? I don't think so |

Hmm, my professor asked me to answer his questions at once, and he most certainly wasnt begging me to do so. :-)
The line between begging and asking is up to common sense. |

Mom asks us to wear a coat when it's cold :)
my coat doesn't cost me tons of gold and i don't have to change it after i go out 30-40 times XD[quote/]
And i can leave the house without my coat. There is no mysterious Force, that can forbid me to leave the house without my coat. Maybe some moms can, but thats an individual problem of age.
-> Is Empire the mom of all of us?
-> And how is she doing this? Are there some thugs of empire to beat the crap out of you, if you refuse to follow her advices? Or are there a secret circle of mages who prevent the lords of the kingdom from fighting without weapon?
But seriously, back to Topic:
begging and taking a loan are two different things. One is a nerving misbehaviour, the other one is a serious financial deal. |
If rules are rules, why somebody was ready to ban Jasper319 for opening a topic and nobody replies to # 3 "there should be a rule to make sure stupidity like yours could be punished though:)"
Evident insults are also forbidden or not?
And #3 if somebody is "desperately trying he is right" he has to be necessarily "bummed" for that? |
Seems like you don't know the difference between 'asking' and 'begging'.
I'll give you an example.
Case 1:
Player A is my friend (I know him from this game), and we send message to each other (almost daily). One day he ask me,"Hey.. Is it possible for you to give me a loan (10,000 gold)?? I need to build my castle. I will return it to you in 1 week'. --> ASKING
Case 2:
I don't know Player B at all. He is not my clan mates. He is a total stranger. And suddenly I found a message in my Inbox. "Hey.. can you give me loan (10,000 gold)?? I want to build my castle. Please....pleaseee... pleaseeee!!! I promise I will return it in 1 week"
--> Definitely BEGGING
I will give loan to case 1.
As for case 2, all I can say is, "Congratulation!! You've been BLOCKED for sending me message anymore"

Whether asking for a loan is begging or not depends on the perception of the people adressed, so if you're asking for a loan in public (forum or chat) it's begging. If you're asking via pm or private chat it depends on whether this person likes you enough to not consider your approach begging. |
why somebody was ready to ban Jasper319 for opening a topic
..the point of the rules is not to punish EVERY rule break. It is not in power of any human to punish all. I could easily go through this thread and find 3 rules broken by almost each of us.
The point is this is the 3rd thread about the same issue and its creator even used another account to avoid ban and still doesnt seem to understand the reasons why begging at forum is not allowed and should not be allowed. That seems like a flood.
About post 3, feel free to contact a moderator about any rule breaks by pm.
To be absolutely precise, these are the threads we are talking about. https://www.lordswm.com/forum_messages.php?tid=1874000

Begging ussually doesnt end with banning but with an easy lock of the topic and warning. But when the creator creates more and more threads, while instead of trying to understand is just looking for reasons why the whole world is unfair and against him, what else is there to do?
This thread is going nowhere therefore, should be locked, but then we will just see screams like "abuse of power, we were just discussing..", so lets just give people some place to vent.. |

Phew, I will call fusei when I need to define something properly. *Hats down* |
ahem...
I can agree that this thread is going nowhere, BUT fusei's definition is just a personal point of view.
May I kindly suggest to have a look at Webster's Dictionary next time you need to define a rule? ^_^ |
for viola17:
Of course it's a point of view, rules are applied by people the way they perceive them and I tried to show that the policy used can be derived from the rules.
You could as well come up with something like begging is only asking for money without promising to return it, but that’s simply not how things are handled here. |
