Author | Pros and Cons of playing different factions |
I've been wondering about the advantages and disadvantages of playing different factions. I can think of these:
pros:
- You receive less damage when fighting against a faction where you're higher than level 0 yourself.
- You have more options to fight, choosing the faction most adapted to hunting/doing quests/fighting other players/thieving/... (with the restriction of course that you can only change once a day).
cons:
- Constructing buildings in a new faction is expensive, and if you don't get them, it will be very difficult to win anything.
- While you're concentrating on other factions, you don't advance in your main faction skill.
I'm certain there must be other points which I don't see. Most top players seem to have two or three factions they're playing, so it seems it makes sense to have more than one faction, but not to play all of them.
Thanks for any further pros and cons or just general advice on the topic! |
pro:
Makes game challenging and interesting again
con:
The effect usually doesn't last, and the game gets boring again, so you start to save up money to do it again
-----
The con is only based on the fact that nothing has really changed on the server for a long, long time. If the admins were to do some sort of event, then you probably would use your "main faction" as you pointed out, instead of your "distraction faction."

pros - It's fuuner :D imagine with all 7 faction castles you can change everyday in a week.
- While you're concentrating on other factions, you don't advance in your main faction skill.
there are 2 ways to by-pass this,
get 1-2 racial levels early on the game, where the castle are much cheaper and with easy hunts, you get plenty sp:xp ratio.
or change faction at lv 8+ when you have got racial 7 or 8 with your main faction. if you are lucky enough to get racial 7 in lv 7, then go ahead and change then. |
pro:
--in hunts(or mg or tg)-some faction are good to some mobs, other faction to others--so i never ask hunt help. My numbers remain low and i can defeat with another faction if they are hard
-- can win more in turnaments if you are good and change faction |
Thanks for the input everyone!
Didn't think of the fun factor as so far for me the game has been a lot of fun with one faction only, but in the future that probably will be an argument for me as well. |
con: more losses added to your record |
Pro: Fun for limited amount of time
Con: Low faction level gets you beaten over and over at higher levels. |

no its not
Note that the bonuses listed in the faction skill table are only given to your creatures, not the hero, and only when you play with that faction. |
