Author | Challenge: Ogre-Tennis |
Every year during spring ogres leave their cave to catch some of these annoying sprites that roam the countryside at that time. The ogres then use their clubs to bat them through the air and the one who caught the sturdiest sprite gets a price.
The Challenge:
Use the ogre’s knockback ability to knock a stack of sprites back and forth as often as you can without interruption.
Rules:
Ogre tennis needs a barbarian and an Elf, the barbarian brings two stacks of ogres (the players) and the Elf brings one stack of sprites (the ball), no other units are allowed on the field. The ogres are placed on a horizontal line with two fields between them and the sprites are placed between the ogres. Before the game starts someone has to type ogre tennis (or something that looks roughly alike) in the chat window.
Now the ogre next to the sprite attacks it without moving, this continuous till the sprites (or one of the ogre stacks) perish, should the other ogre get his turn he is allowed to wait. The sprites are not allowed to do any harmful actions or move at their turn (after they are in position). The heroes are not allowed to do any harmful actions at their turn.
The score is the highest number of consecutive knockbacks that are not broken by the sprites’ retaliation or their demise.
To claim the reward you have to post a score greater or equal to the current high score, minimum is 5. After a valid score is posted a countdown of 3 days starts. If your score is posted by someone else, you can sustain your score by posting an other game with equal score and the countdown starts again for you, now every player has to beat the sustained score in order to win. If several teams sustained the same score, the team who posted the score first (and sustained it) has the countdown running for them. If you beat your own record the countdown is not reset.
If the countdown reaches 0 the leading team receives a price of 10,000 gold. | Very funny, but
"3.16. Staged combats leading one of the parties to losing a priori will be punished for. A staged combat by definition is one where any one of the parties or party members intentionally loses to the other for any reason different from having technical problems with access to the game. Instigation to losing a combat is also forbidden."
(especially the last phrase)
The Elf is suppose to lose in your game because the Elf is not allowed to move at all. More than that, you offer reward for that.
So, as funny as the idea is (really, I would like to try it just to have fun), everyone who posts here any result and the organizer of this game (fusei) will have to accept the unavoidable concequences. ;)
PS1: Do you have any approval from Arctic or any administrator to create a tournament with 10k gp stake? :D
PS2: Sorry for breaking the fun, but I've seen people ready to sell anybody who makes even the slightiest mistake in this game (they are ready to see mistakes even if there is none). | dumbest thing i ever heard give me 10000 gold for being so stupid lol | CHANGE OF RULES:
Other units are allowed on the field, but once they take any other action then wait/defend the tennis match ends. After the end of the match the remaining units have to conduct a regular combat to not violate rule 3.16. | I do not authorize this. Perhaps you find this fun, perhaps some other people do too, but this is not what the game is about. | closed by Arctic (2009-03-11 17:30:59) |
