If I want to assist someone in a hunt, as a dark elf, with 2 large creatures, I cant switch them.
You have 7*2 squares to place your troops, its like this:
(where each O is a square)

O..O
O..O
by default it is places like this:
L..L
L..L
H..H
H..H
M..O
S..O
P..O
where
L = Lizard Cavalry
H = Hydra
M = Minotaur Soldier
S = Shrew
P = Poisoner
O = a free square
Since i only have 3 free squares it is IMPOSSIBLE to switch lizard cavalry and hydras. Lizard cavalry is ALWAYS above the hydras, and there is no way to change it, since you dont have enough spots to switch them
So my suggestion would be, that if you start a game, your troops are NOT on the battlefield, but they are ONLY on the bar below it, just like when you split a stack. So you are free to choose where you place them. And only if you time out during the troops settlement, they ll appear on the field like they are now | lose poisners and you will be able to swich
