Author | +3 morale or +2 morale, +1 luck?? |
what do u think is better??
thx |
luck and morale becuz if u get morale u still have retal and if u get luck pretty much one hit kill |
+3 morale |
and remember they're capped at 5, so getting a good balance of each is good |
2 and 1 |
+3 luck :) |
Depends on your strategy no?
If you don't use crits that take retal, then luck will be more helpful to you. |
+3 is always better than +2 and +1, because it gives a much greater (not just 10% more) chance for luck/morale to trigger. |
for a barb of your level, morale all they way! |
At last been waiting for someone to give good answer.
+3 morale is always better than +2 and +1 UNLESS you have 2xMorale rings and thief amulet. Then and only then is +2 +1 better, because that would give grand total of.
+5 morale (Capped)
+2 Luck (Enough) |
for MasterTI:
Ahem... obviously it's not +2/+1 though, but rather +3/+1 and it seems you're adding talents, too, since you added extra morale (aside from the one all factions save necro have)
If the choice is between +3 morale or +2 morale, +1 luck as resulting stats, go for +3 of whatever. If it's about _adding_ smth. to existing stats it's open to discussion. Also, +2 Luck (Enough) is rather close to +1 in quality, and too far from +3. Imo, that's waste of money. |
I when im in huge hunts like 10K+ Mobs i always use +5 morale +2 luck. Now i could get +5 morale +3 luck if i spent 5-70k on thief amulet. Now ideally +3 luck +5 morale is nice but as you say its awaste of money.
However if your rich IMO then go for +5 +3 but this is for another topic. |
+2 morale +1 luck .. Luck is important, morale also important .. better if U have + more than 3 morale also +3 luck .. ^^

If choose between +3 Morale or +2 Morale/+1 Luck, I choose +2 Morale and +1 Luck.
Because if luck = 0 there is no chance of luck will befall. So even +1 luck you can get luck fallen in first hit.
For increase from +2 to +3 Morale you will have a little more chance to get morale befall.
So +2 Morale you get a few chance less to get morale fallen but you have a chance to get double damage. |
Imo, luck is more expensive to get than morale. I say this based on the following comparisons:
Necklace - Amulet of luck VS Medal of bravery
Rings - Ring of doubts VS Ring of inspiration
So it seems the game rates luck more highly than morale, and I tend to agree. If you're asking which is better, 3 morale or 2 morale + 1 luck, ignoring cost, I will say that 2 morale + 1 luck is better.
Either way, your chances for something to trigger is still about the same. So it's really a matter of what kind of battle you're fighting. =) |
I think that, based oh Shebali's comment, that the difference in chance of a +1 and a +2 is different from that of a +2 with a +3. it's not linear.
I think luck is more important since dealing more damage at one go, thus reducing retaliation or even removing it entirely, seems a little better than superior manuveurability, a bit lesser damage and taking retaliation...
But I guess it's up to your army composition... |
Luck 1 moral 2
I think +1 luck give 10% extra damage, and + moral give +5% extra damage(50% initiative then triggers), so luck is alaways better unless retribution and some hunts. |
Morale Cascades, so Morale +3. By Cascade, I mean that the extra actions you get due to a Morale bonus also have a chance of a Morale bonus.
Luck doesn't Cascade: even though a successful Luck chance is equivalent to getting two successful hits, you can't get Double Luck or Triple Luck to do even more damage. But you can get an extra attack from Morale, and the extra attack can have an extra attack, and so forth. |
In general, I believe luck is more important (since I am necro :) ). However, there are still some situations I'd prefer high morale over luck.
Look at wolf raiders and their tripple strike. if luck triggers, overal dmg would count as 4 regular stikes. If morale triggers, wolf raiders gain another 3 strikes.
Also troops with high ini profit from high morale - what about shrews attacking 2 times before enemy has his first turn decimating enemy's army before he can co anything?
I think answer to chakkal2001's question depends mainly on troops you use. |
For the decision of +2 luck/+1 moral or +3 of one stat it would be nice to add the formular given in the "About the game" faq's as well.
morale/luck triggers = F^(1+[moves befallen so far]-[moves not befallen so far]*F/(1-F))
I tried this formula in some excel-sheets and I have to say, it is much betterto stack one stat (luck or moral), than stack both of them. +3 of Luck/Moral is by far better than only +2/+1 Luck/Moral.
You can see in the formula that the growing of luck/moral-proccs is exponential and not linear. That means, you are getting more proccs when you increase moral/luck from +2 to +3 than when you increase moral from +1 to +2 and so on (from +3 to +4 moral/luck there is also a larger procc-rate than from +2 to +3).
Personally I would prefer Moral over luck cause you can splitt the damage on enemy stacks (the overkill of enemy stacks is lower, even thought you don't have burst damage). |
