Author | tactics in an ambush |
I've always been wonder why certain barbarian caravans were able to place their units so differently from what players can do with unit placement in an ambush (4X4 square where the hero is on the second row an ambushed player can put his units couting from the upward row)
Now, I've alway figuered that'd be because they had the tactics talent since from what I understand caravan hero's try to mimic players (apart from the more then 7 stacks/altered stas) but then I winded up getting ambushed with my tactics talent still active, but I had no extra rows to place my units.
To make a long story short, what I'm asking is if it's normal for the tactics talent to not work in an ambush because after reading the description I figuered it should work. I mean, one extra row being be up front, to the left, to the right or to the back shouldn't really matter, but I'd really like my extra row even in an ambush. |
Thieves with tactics do receive extra settlement tiles in the corners. Victims with Tactics have no such tiles despite the talent. Little does your tactics help when you are ambushed.
I'd love to see a combat where the barbarian troops are settled in an odd way. Would you please provide a specific link? |

Me, with tactics as you'll notice i have 4 squares between the down side off the board and my most down troops (and I'm sure I can't place my troops anymore down)

And I found out what the problem is after looking trough most of my ambushing logs; players have a space of 4 squares from the top off the board and 4 squares down the board resulting in a symmetrical 4X4 spot where they can put their units while npc caravans also have a 4X4 space where they put units, but the difference here is that they have 5 free spaces up and 3 spaces down. Combine that with wolfriders/raiders on either corner and you (or just me) have a twisted percerption where it looks like its more then a 4X4 square. |
Adding to what Arctic said in #2:
Thieves with tactics, more precisely, only get that extra space on the Western Corners--Not the two in the East.
