Author | Thieving at level 9 |
I didn't find the other thread, so here's a new one.
Since I'm level 9, caravans do only frustate me. Out of 79 ambushes against caravans I only won 25.
My tactics haven't change much since level 8, where I managed to reach TG 2 in about 6 days. I bought the most powerful arts, I changed my talents setup, looked at other high level thieves combats, but nothing seems to help. And I don't get the feeling that the caravans get really easier with losing against them.
So what to do? Let it be? Lose another 100 ambushes to have a chance?
Could someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? |
ambushing is no good for knight at lvl 9 either. I changed faction to DE and win a little bit more.
basically, you should start ambushing at lvl 6 as knight or barb. lvl9 is not easy. I think you need to change talent from expert luck to something else. enchanting your weapon help alot too. if you have two weapon enchanted with +27% each, that will be +54% extra damage.
I never played a barb though... |
Thanks trying to help, but I already used other talents. Weapon enchanting would be a possibility, though I doubt it will change much against caravans with many stacks. |
>>but I already used other talents.
Do you know you can change talents any time, as many time as you want and it is free? |
I'm not going to say thieving is easy.
But I get by at lvl 8 knight. Though I'm not sure if everything changes at lvl 9 or if it gets much harder at TG 3. |
It doesn't get difficult at TG 3 (for a level 8 knight). For knights, it does get very hard at level 9. The parameters of the enemy heroes are higher by 1-2 points (each). Also, the number of creatures increases significantly. |
It is much harder in level 9, dont worry, you've done nothing wrong.. |
dont feel bad, every lv9 face teh same problem |
Does it get easier when I reach level 10? |
No, it gets more difficult. By some accounts, the change is even worse than 8-9. |
This problem makes me stop doing combat.
Enroll hour to hour to collect gold.
Buy elements.
Enhance every weapon that I have.
After that, I will back for thief ambush. |
for SpecialOne:
That's one way to solve it. But then caravans will gt even stronger, and even craft won't be of help.
Another thing you (or anyone) could do is make ambushes in min AP, lose to caravans until they get weaker, then start wearing full-art again. Of course, it takes time, since there are about 50-60 sorts of caravans, and you have to lose to each one to make them weaker (1 loss makes that particular caravan abt 5% weaker) |
for Shebali:
Oh, I don't know that if we lose, the caravan will become weaker.
I always do thief ambush in full heavy arts.
Thank you very much for the information. |
I'm finding the same difficulty, also because knights are less good than elves and dark elves in ambushes...
Recently i have find that the best talents' combo (for me, obviously) is basic fortune, basic leadership, rally and escort. I've managed to kill some carovans (though i cannot defeat 10 devils carovan, or de with 21 spellpower, 33 hydras, 15 lizard assailants and 15 liz cavalry, or the carovans with over 100 shrews....).
That's the only thing i can say. |
Well, this makes thieves guild quite senseless for me. I'm here for gaming, not for working. |
Ah, the infamous hydravan. No one can get those :| |
This was an answer for 12. Intentionally losing more than 60 battles to get 5% easier caravans... *laughs madly* |
The infamous hydravan have a lot of friends: the devilvan, the shrewsvan, the death-envoysvan, the cyclopsvan (18 all together, with something like 66 orcs and 30 ogres XD )... i've also found a wizard carovan with 7 (7!) giants.
And the worst thing is that there are people who whining about how much bad are the thieves!!!!!! Jesus... |
My favourite was a vampvan: about 90 vampires in one stack. :)) |
Hi i`m thinking to rent TGI but I`m 80k of exp to lvl up. If it is so hard to win thief caravans on lvl 9 i`m curios if i will be able to give TGI back with in 2 weeks...
Or on first TG lvls ambushes are easy?
I think it should be... but who knows... |
