Authorreplaying a battle
can we have a feature which allows us to replay battles against neutrals like hunts and merc quests.

the outcome of the replay is nothing at all.
players will NOT earn any exp or skill point or gold.

also the damages suffered, mana lost, skele reserves lost will be ignored.

the replay battle will use the same recruited units as the original battle.

arts if used in the original battle, will have the effects, but durability will not be lost.

the objective of this feature is to improve strategy and to find out mistakes made. so that the next time - we can show the monster who's boss...

i don't think adding this feature will be difficult because:

1: the battle records are stored
2: it is against the ai, so does not require the presence of other players like in PvP.
when i say replay, i mean playing the battle all over again from the beginning.

using alternate moves, the ai response will also be different.
Interesting, reminds me some chess games where you can cancel at least some of the last moves, except its more challenging here because you have to redo from start and AI will behave differently.
It could be implemented at least for the beginner levels to help newbies.
Imagine you find a new game try it, get pwned and have to wait 20 minutes for another try. You didnt notice other games features such as roulette tavern card games or are not interested in, will you continue that game or rather try yet another game? I'd say replay strongly recommended for beginners.
Also many players are only hunting at least for a while and they would appreciate because replaying a failed fight better than waiting for next hunt.
yes, it seems like a nice feature!
I think that it could be a good idea, especially if you don't have to wait for your monsters to recover, and you could do it WHILE your monsters recover, try different styles of fighting...
At the end of the battle, the table with results appeares, there is also button "View entire combat"
for Erlemar,

this is not about viewing the battle,

with this feature you can play the battle again from the beginning, make moves, (same or different) to try out new strategy or figure out mistakes,

this feature will be similar to chess games just like akwamaryn pointed out.
It's an idea. But I don't think it will ever be implemented.

I believe the learning of how AI works and improving of one's strategy should be done from and during actual battles itself, not through simulations. Allowing simulations will diminish the degree of improvisation during battles as every move will be predictable with 100% or near 100% accuracy. Also, where is the challenge if you already test-run the fight and 'perfected' it before fighting the real battle?

It also makes a joke out of people who have had painstakingly tried on numerous occasions, wearing arts each time, to beat a particular enemy. Each time he tries and loses, he suffers a loss in arts durability, a recorded loss in his combat log, and has to wait an additional 20 minutes. And now people can just 'replay' any battle and perfect their strategy so that they can win it easily the next round? How unfair.

This is why even if these simulations should ever come into play, its access should neither be free nor unlimited. Maybe there can be a small fee of 100 gold per simulation, or limit the number of simulations to once per day... or even make it exclusively for diamond-users.
