how about a nre guild which is based on the idea to make the roads safe again, ye get skill for killing thieves.

now i do not wear arts on travelling for irt would be a waste, even when i would kill a thief, it still is not much xp or skill, but if killing them off would offer more advatages, i might consider taking thiefhunting as a career option and travel in full arts
that might be cool...but which would be better? thief or anti-thief?
would you have to only pick one or could you lead a double life sheriff by day theif by night
for all i care, ye can do both, not wearing your sherrifs badge when ye go ambush innocents thou
personally, i rather like the idea. what would be the bonus given do you think?
i think defending the innocents should get defense points? laborer guild takes a long time...

maybe it it increases like:

1:+1%recruiting, random sheriff/police artifact set
2:+1%recruiting, random sheriff/police artifact set, deputized
3;+1%recruiting, random sheriff/police artifact set, town trust
4;+1%recruiting, random sheriff/police artifact set, promoted to sheriff
5;+1%recruiting, random sheriff/police artifact set
6;+1%recruiting, random sheriff/police artifact set
7;+1%recruiting, random sheriff/police artifact set

i based this off of the thief guilds benifits

i dont know what being a deputy or sheriff would do it might give you a bonus against theives or something.

i dont know what theive leaders trust is so i have no idea what town trust should be
i like this idea, and the recruit bonuses too ^^
maybe you need somethin like theif invitation? Maybe you can call it a recommendation form or somethin
i think that it should free for those who cant afford to become a thief

police set would be a little pointless thought... how about a bounty system

so what if you got a bounty for every theif you kill depending on how many troops and what teir troops you kill and when you lvl you get all the money for it

1:+1%recruiting, collect bounty
2:+1%recruiting, collect bounty, deputized
3;+1%recruiting, collect bounty, town favorite
4;+1%recruiting, collect bounty, promoted to sheriff
5;+1%recruiting, collect bounty
6;+1%recruiting, collect bounty
7;+1%recruiting, collect bounty

deputized gives +1 defence vs theif leader troops
sheriff gives +1 attack vs thief leader troops

town favorite = 1.2*bounty

is this good? see any problems with this?
Very good idea but I think it should be tweaked a little. Some factions would go crazy with the percentage like Knights with training chambers. Think about what 4% bonus would do + the training chamber bonus and I think Demons have something like that too. I don't know it seems good but it could easily back fire on some classes.
yeah knights and deamons would benifit the most from this....

what if the troops that you got from being a sheriff or peace keeper or police were different or special in a way that would make them fair for all classes

Well, plus %1 recruiting isn't a good idea...beacuse in group battle and duel and stuff, people will be like, no sherrif guild...and it would screw everything up, and yes knights would be crazy. i suggest a morale boost at 1-2 levels....for every level, instead of recruiting up maybe just like initiative like thief.

i can't think of anything better atm.

And having extra morale would be beneficial to necromancer in what way exactly? I thought the idea was to make the bonuses equal to all the factions. Althought just substitute the morale with luck for necros and problem solved :P
Fancy smancy... But... why not just give sheriff lvls extra gold in hunts. lvl 1 = 2%, lvl 2= 5%, lvl 3= 7% lvl 4 = 10% etc.

This means you'll get more money with sheriff levels from hunts, because you keep the people safe from roaming monsters.

I don't think anyone would object to a possibility to make more money off hunts =)
the duels and stuff is no argument, same is for thieves guild initiative, merc guild added parameters and so on and so on
