Greetins fellow knights!

Over the past weeks we have been given the opportunity to test our new talent trees, and I am sure all of you have had time to pick your favourites.

So I come here to ask you to share with the community your views and oppinions on what you believe to be the best picks for a successfull knight.

I ask that you write down 2 things:

1: What do you consider the most important tree, or individual talent, and why.

2: The list of talents you would pick if you had 35 points to spend. (I say 35 because it is equivalent to Combat level 10, which is a more or less attainable goal for most of us). Here's my 2 cents:
1: I am a fan of reliability, so I usually go for permanent boosts, that aren't based on chance. So my pick goes to the Defense tree. Concentration will probably be an amazing talent (too bad Barbs can get it way earlier), but the middle skills such as Endurance or magic shield are already pretty good. not to mention that 20% or 30% less dmg is a lot.

2: With 35 points, I'd go for:
- Expert Defense (-30% melee dmg)
- Avoidance (-20% range dmg)
- Magic Shield (-20% magic dmg)
-basic defence
-vitality
-avoidance
-basic leadership
-rally

at level 10 rally wil get you a ton of extra troops, then vitality will give them a ton of health, they'll be unstoppable!
Yeah, but ur enemys also will have a ton of extra troops :)

Hi, if having 37 (or 40 in lv11) points, I will definitely choose the following talents:

- advance darkness
- fallen knight
- enfeeble
- escort

They give you a strong dark magic and "enfeeble" costs no mana point...

Really? enfeeble? I'd like to know more about your choice =) I never gave magic too much attention. I prefer to go with raw power and defense. But then again, I'm not familiar with all the spells. Is putting weakness on a lot of enemies really that good?

Does anyone else have the same opinion? Please discuss =)

I also considered rally, but I still don't know if the bonus to troops is based on combat level, or if it's just a one-time boost. + morale is always good tough, even if it's still based on chance.


And how about Tactics? It must be of some advantage if we can attack with griffs right on 1st round right? but is it worht all those talent points? keep in mind it's a pre-requesite for concentration
escort + enfeeble would be interesting to investigate.

Every time the escorted unit is attacked, your hero attacks the enemy with 150% damage and "weakness" spell. Isn't that great? :-) However, one cant use them before lv11.

it says it adds to each of his direct attacks, would escort count towards that? also the -1 morale isn't worth it...

rally increases with our skill points so at level 10 we will have high skill points and troops already so a greater increase ;)

within 35 points, I will choose:

- advanced defense
- vitality
- basic leadership
- rally

You can't have both vitality and avoidance with basic defense, am I wrong?
ah yes then i'll do the same as you :)
Isn't it more interesting to raise leadership to advanced, and let defense to basic?

Swords are really too slow, and some morale effects could help them to be more effective.
leadership gives morale right? Isnt there a max of +3 morale? At leasts thats what i know from the original game. That means you can just buy artifacts to put your morale at +3. So basically you are buying gold with your talents if you choose leadership. I would pick unique talents that cant be bought with artifacts.
Morale limit is 10 not 3
Yes, it is interesting to have +3 morale. Alternatively, maybe escort is important. That says:

- basic defense
- vitality
- basic leadership
- rally
- escort

This seems my final decision within 35 points :-)

But I'm yet to hear someone defending the luck talents. +1 or +2 to luck can also make a difference in a battle right? more than morale? less?

and how about the holy spells thingie? Mass Stoneskin sounds pretty good as well =) Any thoughts?

Morale limit is 5, as well as luck limit.
Thread resurrection:

I just reacher lv5 and was wondering if the holy magic is worth anything. Let's say I invest 1 point in knowledge and spell power each and take basic holy magic talent. I can now cast bless on griffins etc, but is it worth it? It will take 1 combat level more to get rally and I get 2 points less on att and/or def.
Useless,ive lots of build,if you want use magic,get lvl 7,then get basic attack and +1 to min max dmg,and if you have xbows,with bless they rock,in other case take morale +rally and in 1 vs 1 sure take escort!
