To win: This is obvious, pick easy fights.
Other advice:
Since you have built all MG, I'd recommend going as Charmer Elf. That way you get free Knowledge and SP and deal sizable amount of damage with hero.
In your battle with Nightmares {3} :
1. Protect GMBs always with trees against 2x2 tile creatures.
2. Entangle monsters with trees and defend.
3. Since it was nightmare monster, you could have entangled your tree and then blocked your own trees with other troops so it doesn't run away in case of fear attack.
4. Use druids to stone your troops.
Stone + Defend on trees make them impossible to kill. |

I see you have become CE :)
I think the best talent combination for CE are Rally (to increase your army), Battle Fury (Dmg increase), Imbue arrow and rest talent points on Luck! :) |
If anyone is building Knight castle then I'd suggest not to buy recruits.
Recruits increase your other troop numbers and hence they make a critical construction to build. They themselves suck but help in increasing other troop numbers.
I'd suggest not to build them and use Holy Knight instead. You can bypass this problem and save ~30k gold easily :D
That is if your sole purpose is to build some resistance against Knights :) |

Instead of battle fury I would suggest brethren commander and basic erudition...they are an amazing combination |

Btw I just checked your calculator and it is extremely helpful!! I used lord hallions one till now, which is also good but unfortunately has problems once in a while, but this one is very quick ;D Thanks a lot for that! Maybe you should post it in GG forum for others to see :) |
