but succubi can gate when they have no shots left. I have tried this one but the succubi just gated themselves, then, what can i do? oh, im a DE, with only poisoners as my "ranged", so i think that shouldn't be a problem even with other factions. maybe, you can use your hero to kill 1-2 stacks of that shot-sapper. Sometimes, ppl choose to attack wolf 1st than succubi, so they might still have some use.

at least they need to sacrifice 1 stack to take the retal and return fire makes shooter think twice, hit or not when there's another target like elven bowmen, orcs, etc. So, this is some survival ability for succubi beside their high hp
im pretty sure that ur succubi will stand last if there's no skeletal bowmen or crossbow (too high number)

If there are ANY other ranged units on my side...no one even bothers shooting the succubi. It is a good survival technique...tho some players split just to steal succubi's precious shots since they only get six.

have an opinion as a lv 8 demon xerfer? better or getting worst compared to other faction?

At level 8 I can tell you in PvP you MUST kill the enemy's teir 5 units ASAP- Hell horses just will not match them and just 2-3 of the enemy's tier 5 units left will kill your succubi or destroy to many incendiaries. Always gate your incendiaries where the battle will be whether in the center or your side or the enemies. They are to slow to start out of it. I just fought group battle against an elf...stoneskined unicorn killed all 6 hell horse and 8ish succubi before being killed. Of course that was with luck on every hit (literally, both hits on succubi and 1 out of the 2 hits to kill 6 hell horse), but even still.

I've never fought it but considering hell horses can't beat monks or griffins one on one, and that crossbows can kill 15 succubi in one hit- I would say that it's next to impossible to beat that.

I don't know about despair vs. luck. Personally I use despair, but I suppose it's more economical to use luck. Despair can be useful in going first- but orcs will beat you anyday. Elves have the advantage, wizards have mini arts...Knights go last anyways...and well DE got nothing if no poisoners who would go first anyway. So luck is probably better, but I rather go for guaranteed advantages rather than gambling on luck. And for level 7 go with battle fury not double luck. I tried double luck but my troops did like nothing without the luck.

Oh, but beating skeletal bows can be important.
as for splitting succ, its not sych a bad idea as u say, i tried and i liked it:
+ u can gate 1 stack in front of enemy and shoot with another
+splited succ gate more. at 6 skill 15 gate 6-7 succ, but 5 usually gate 3, so we have 8-9 gated
+ harder to block.
+ random factor (damage, luck, morale, ini) get minimized
- weak return fire
- u lose slots for splitting spawns!

as for pendant vs luck (+1 atack +1 def +5%ini)
i chose pendant, lets count:
1 luck = 10% triger chance its the same as +10% damage in 1 turn
pendant gives (+5% dam, +5% def) = nearly the same effect as +1 luck
and +5% is very important not omly for 1st turn(as Xerf said u just succ get ini close to enemies ar4ers, random desides who make 1st shoot), but also pendant gives +7% ini to spawns and hounds, it usually lets u make 2 turns before slow enemy units as minos or swords.
at 8 lvl luck can be better bcause u can get 1 talent, and 2 luck trigers often enough, but still i think cold blade talent is better, just dont like random =)

Hounds or Succubi?

I don't understand...what level..?? At level 5-7 you can have both..?

At level 8 succubi are probably better than hounds because they are shooters. Max incendaries (79) and 12 spawns 6 wolf....17 succubi and 6 hell horse seems to work pretty good.
Also you need advanced offense to get cold blade if you want to keep battle fury...for each additional talent in a category you need basic, advanced and expert level in that sector respectively. I went for luck it seems better.

what level of weakness? for how long? seems to be interesting talent.
175: maybe only 1 lvl weakness, because u dont even get the magic guild for it. not too interesting, wasting 8points in basic darkness and 6points in hellfire..

i prefer 17 succubi too at lv 8, u dont have any chance against shooter without ranged unit. elven bowmen will kill incen before they come close and break the wall

I am not entirely sure, but i think it depends on your darkness magic level and the duration depends on your spell power. Its like a free cast of weakness :)

That must be a long time later .. coz the arch devil is the upgrade of devil, too strong for nowadays players ...
