just want to say: bloody stupid knights without tactic and strategy (no brain?)!!! shame on them.

thx to some dumb knights in tour, it cause me having hard time on wiz. they prefer killing each other rather than hunt down big threat like wiz and nerco.

those knights never realized wiz can finish up all other knight no matter how much guardians they had in late battle.

once they start found out the garg keep running away at late battle, it was too late to chase those garg. the wall is totally a nice obstacle to dodge guardians even with burst action

even hunt down those threat doesnt guarantee to grant 1st position in fight. but, it can be a better result due to those wiz and nerco dead early.

i had that also with a barb he prefred kill me instead of the wiz.. but what can u do
jah pang, it's impossible to beat a wiz with 9 speed gargs and rstore mana.even if you have 100 guards

that's the point, the only way is get all those knights' guardians to kill the garg. forming a net and slowly close up.

Ive watched sseveral tournament battles, and so far in 100% of them, everyone attacks all stacks except the gargoyles.
At the end wizard still got 70+ gargoyles, and if only if there are two wizards, their stack will get attacked.
I havent seen a wizard that lost (unless there are two wizards) yet.

I was referring to the current tourney.. I am also thinking of turning from "advanced holy+advanced fortune" talent that I have been using so effectively in all kinds of battles to "expert defence+fortune"

I have already replaced my amulet of luck for warrior pendant and was thinking on lines of Signet ring of might to boost my attack.

In my last FFA (in which I came 2nd thanks to absence of any mage) I used mass stoneskin effect on my hero's very first turn. For some reason after seeing that, no one was attacking me! Not even the DE whom I was attacking! lol So I was thinking that maybe seeing stoneskin appearing on all the troops of a hero (for 3 to 5 turns) has a psychological effect on others :D

Also because the battles are so long, I am unable to really decide that of how much use magic can be in these battles? Should I instead redistribute my parameters and put them in defence and attack?

Sorry too many questions requiring subjective answers :(

I also have a tournament related question.

Should I split my crossbows in these FFAs? So far, I've been splitting them into 2 stacks, 21 and 20. Is this a mistake? Should I keep them all together in one big stack of 41?
i prefer not to with all the fireballs flying around nowadays
Spilting them will give you a chance to shot 2 diffrent targets and also makes them easier to kill (rain of arrows - 2 targets , fireball as navimegaman said, etc.). For me you should not spilt them.
At level 5, I preffer to split my bowmen in many equal stacks when playing against elfs so that they won't kill all my bowmen with one shot.
your tactic change from time to time. some tactic in low level wont be good to apply at higher lv soon.

Thanks man. It was one hard fought battle. I think I even lost an hour or so of sleep playing that one out. heh

To all Knights concerning tourney:

At Lv10, Wizards are the only thing standing in our way of topping the battle. Next threat would be might Necro. I'm saying this based on experience of playing 15 of my 20 tourney battles so far.

I had to tinker with the talents setup, and finally settled on Barrier and Endurance, since I used 4 parameter points on magic (Knw/SP).

Wizards harm us only by their magic and Gars which run like sickening chickens on a frying pan. Necros are threat No.2 because of Apparitions, which I think are like Gars but only slower and harder to hit with Ethereal.

All in all, Knights Lv10s are fairing OK at the moment, but we cant stand chicken-influenced maneuvers like Gars and Appas.

i have magic build with expert holy + rally + escort in tour.

it work wonderful at late battle especially encounter those zealot might knight in 1 v 1 case LOL

i just cast all holy spells: rapid, stone skin, chastise and bless on my guardians. my guardians can own those might knight guardians easily with even better stats XD

1 evasion cast had remove the attraction from other shooter to whack my troops too :)

part of it, i face some poison nerco with 26 Sp which almost kill my entire army. well, dispersion save my day which buy me enough guardians to chop the nerco :)


on other fight, i use expert holy + dom of unification + basic leadership + escort. i just cast 1 mass stone skin and all other were give up on target me. cavalry with 78 def, awesome? XD

although i did try other built, such as might talent build on expert def + barrier + endurance OR half might built: basic def + barrier + expert holy. it dont really work well for me. perhaps it was because of i got raped by a team.

another i had try was solider luck + rally + escort :)solider luck had serve me well in lv9 and lv10 survival tour last time. once again, surprise that it serve me well in this blindfold tour too. but, i just dont have the chance to stay until the end of fight to show how efficient at late battle cause another team gang me :)
Can anyone give more tips about fighting a necro at level 5?

And what talent should I get for a might built? Luck, escort, offence?

i tried very hard even in GB against necro at lv 5
the underlying problem is that our troops are slow and griffins die fast.
on the other hand, necor's troops are a headache for knight.
ghosts with miss chance have rather good defense and always get our retal without damage. fast vams with no retal and drain life often stand until last min. and necro can raise dead to fight again and again but knight's troops cant be raised.

u better have another necro or elf in your team vs necro in GB

Will things get balanced later?

Against what faction is a knight good?
on necro, don't let them raise ghosts.
In the tourney, best thing is to keep your griffs back, and have your bowman pwn their bowman (believe me, they will)
In a duel, keep griffs back, hit them first, move swords out and have them attack vamps.
If he raises teh vamps, attack them with griffs.
It has worked for me before...
Kill teh ghosts last.
