How to beat dwarf with dry T-shirt
https://www.lordswm.com/war.php?lt=-1&warid=894009569 |
Wow, till 8 April |
I am happily beating knights as a tribal- which just goes on to show how strong it is. |
#145 haha you showed him , love to see dwarf getting ass kicked |
Really do not know how the system works...if I join at 12:34, there are 14 participants and at 12:40, there are 30 participants why the system does not allocate me in any battle? What the hell is going on?...And that's not first time I noticed it. |

It's bad luck, you don't stand a chance against darkness barb |
(You have 15 victories out of 18 battles for Elf)
I thought elves are weaker. |
for Pastak:
Don't be so surprised, you have crafted a good character with good guilds and anti skill, I would expect you to have a good win rate. The admins do strive to get balance, and I think sometimes do a better job than people imagine. The main variable is often more to do with charter strength and skill, over faction balance. |
In duels I think dwarves are not so OP. I played with them 4 times and they had no chance vs me (charmer) in any battle. I found out that offense+tactic talents are much useful than morale+swiftness. Firstly you spend just 18 points for reaching your opponent (instead of 32), and secondly and you make much better dmg in 1st turn. Morale is not much useful, charmers are very fragile so they are dead until they get the 2nd turn even with morale.
The second discovery is using dryads instead of forest brethren. They can attack multiple enemies WITHOUT retaliation. That's the main advantage. If your forest brethren standing in opposite of bears or any other large HP opponent, you make some dmg but the retal makes much bigger dmg than yours. With dryads it does not matter who is standing in opposite. The damage is compairable (64 brethren dmg 6 vs 112 dryads dmg 3.5) but if you have luck and dryads standing vs 2 big stacks, the total dmg is 2 times better, and if you get luck, the difference is even better.
I used expert offense+tactics+battle fury and +2 luck, without druids (are useless), instead of them are better 3 stacks of sharpshooters (better chance for knocking shot + hard to block/confuse/delay them all). Soldiers boots are useful as well (+3% INI!).
This setup worked in most battles (dwarves, knight, other charmers, DD, all chaos casters). I had problem with defensive builds, lost with shadow barb and TDE. One unlucky loss with other charmer while I got bad luck in ini bar - my all 3 stacks of sharps with 15.2 ini played after 2 opponent stacks with ini 15.0. |

Of course you destroy dwarves with 25 def before they can move, you kill it before it can do anything by outrushing their rusher build. If you have a slow faction that has NO stack that moves before thanes then it gets pitiful, either you put stacks front row and they get destroyed by thanes with retribution or you put stacks in back row and they get destroyed by the patriarch cross attack (and not possible to kill patriarch 1st turn otherwise either they go 2 hit rune or raise, only elf or perhaps fury barb can kill it before it moves). Even if setup is good enough to make dwarf not use retribution then it use dwarven divinity for 1 strong hit and almost invulnerability until next turn, ie. it is bound to hit twice before you are allowed to kill it twice.
Playing attack build and the dwarf will use speed rune to exploit low defense, play defense build and it will raise or use retribution. If you rely on one strong stack then bears alone can put it out of play with infinite knockpawn with no retal.
The only real weakness of dwarf is the ability of the player to pick the right rune, otherwise it has tools to get away from every situation. In a way it makes it the most "balanced" faction but it is also unfortunate for the factions that don't have all these possibilites to adapt their playstyle to the situation. |
And there are also berserk that can just go and block shooters 1st turn if you don't corner shooters or if you put something front row then it's fodder for than retribution. |
Attack dwarf with piercing luck success depends very much on relative initiative between opponents.
Critical comparisons - patriarchs versus any blocker
dwarf shooters, versus enemy shooters.
When I played as a weak dwarf (low FL) all too often my patriarchs did not move soon enough to get a good hit in as it was blocked, or they had been hurt significantly (rushed)
Dwarf shooters tend to shoot last but have more beef than many, and as such can normally take a hit, and then hit hard in return.
By consequence, classic necro I found very difficult as a dwarf since their skelly bows could out last me and shot before me.
A charmer who rushed me straight would potentially overwhelm depending upon luck procs and targets. If he could not hit me on the first turn (I faced one without the relevant talents to rush) he was easy pickings.
As a DoF battlewise the two I lost both were when I could not block patriarchs with gargoyles as they moved before me - forcing me to either rush in suicide genie bid to avoid patriarch retribution doom, or stay back and take it in the face and hope I could shoot it down sufficiently. I tried one of each and neither worked. In my other battles garg moved first, blocked patriarchs and then I could out shoot him to win.
I can imagine charmer with dryads for a rush build is better than forest bretheren against battlewise - also having 3 stacks of sharps - though would still fancy my chances in most matchups. |
Yeah with runes you can react to your opponent and battle situation. The other factions depend just on prematch setup (talents, arts etc.) |
Today better be the last day. |
^why do you want it to end? |
