To make you all feel better, mostly in min possible arts, with only clicking weaker
Total army strength: 4,090
Victories / Combats: 40 / 40
Silver available: 29,697
What I don't like about this is the luck factor with regard to early recruitment. I can imagine shrews are very very useful as means with a ranged army the shrews can deal with the high ini long ranged troops like dragons first. Opening up a wider range of enemies one can face without loss of any troops. For example so far after what must have been several hundred different armies seen (obviously only 40 faced) I have yet to see a single stack of rogues to be recruited. Not that it really bothers me as I am just farming, though for me the interesting bit is the strategic thinking of how to optimise - even if I only do it in theory and do not actually worry about trying to put it into practice.
Some great scores - I hope you can keep it up and get lots of potions and HG points and a killer art at the end |
Total army strength: 5,346

sometime I forgot I dont wear high-end arts. |
Ok so main objective - win battle without losses of troops- achieved by high bias on ranged troops and selectivity on enemy such that you can dominate them in range
If you are good enough and lucky enough to consitently find enemies where this is feasible then your increase in army should be larger for each day since you will find more troops/more silver but lose no troops (central IF condition)
Hence if you are at 5-6 k at the half way stage (40 battles) then you have a good shout at reaching that mark - provided you can maintain that win without loss (or significant loss)
If you can keep your army without losses
while all about you people are losing theirs
If each time this results in a bigger increase
in troops gained that lost in snares
If you can make sure all battles are won
then yours will be the elixirs and Hg points, my son |
Total army strength: 10,184

Strange, top guy getting only 29 magis as new unit?
I am getting more than that, and my rank is 1.8k
Am I missing something here? |

My guess is that he was running out of searches on that round and took whatever he could use |

Lord Miles Tennyson. Easier said than done- those sharpshooters die too easily |
I use GMB, 5-8 dmg with double strike v/s 7-8 dmg, choice is obvious.
Sharpshooters are only good for PvP because of init, else GMBs are always better. |
for Ingenious:
Well in PvP knocking shot also helps, but in event no range penalty will help. |

I've been looking for cyclops but probably won't get them. I was fortunate enough to get many rogues so far. I also got monks but haven't gotten very many |
No rogues, giving up hope on them. Completely misplayed the event... now I'm understanding why xbows was a bad choice, half dmg :/ |
xbows was a bad choice
me too, making mistake to chose xbow. last event like this I went with warden. this time the warden silver cost is too high, so I assume it is not worth it anymore and better to use other unit (like CoT cost balancing in PoT). Guess I was wrong :( |
for krabylos:
Well my decision was based on simple ignorance. I thought "total army strength" simply is how "strong" your army is. In other words, the difference between spending a lot of crystals for an upgrade like magi to battlemagi wouldn't be as major as one between say spearmen to harpooners. So I thought that the silver cost for wardens isn't worth it, as I thought my army strength wouldn't be THAT much higher, as in general wardens aren't THAT much stronger than xbows. I however did not know that when you spend silver, no matter what upgrade you spend on, you get a certain increase in army strength, making silver worth much more than typical troops you will encounters after battle 40+ as I can observe. This is also something I didn't expect, the troops I'm receiving keep getting smaller and smaller (especially ones I already have) but silver amount is slightly increasing. Anyway the point is silver is much better later on, so I'll have to horde on silver now anyway. And thus I'll have a large amount of silver that I'll end up wasting on upgrading troops I won't ever use.
Moral of the story is, since I end up having a very large amount of surplus silver anyway, for me the expense of xbows and wardens is equivalent, thus it's clear which one is the better choice. I was unaware of this rule till yesterday, when luckily RecorderPT informed me about it.
All in all, I, and others who didn't know about this are at a pretty big disadvantage. Having double ranged damage is too big of a deal to just let go :(
I really hope we get this event again soon, I'd love to play it again now that I understand how to play it. |
Btw I checked some high rank players' battles, but they didn't seem to get potions :O
Do we get potions every single battle/win after 12k or is it only a chance? |
Should be after each win, like we were getting at last pirate on every win. |
Total army strength: 5,852
Victories / Combats: 36 / 40

Losing a lot of troops :| |
A quick question.
Could someone confirm if skeletal crossbowmen are available as an upgrade to the normal skeletons?
I mean like how the tribal alt upgrades are available even though there is no official tribal alt yet. Does the same apply to the skeletons? |
No skeletal crossbows are not, just normal bows and legionnaires. I think my skelly bows cost around 10-11k for 350 or so if you are interested. |
