Great sense of humor through poetry, guys. I am again sorry for this delay, eager to post the results already. But it would be unfair for the Lady, to count off her grades.. These would be decisive ones so we have to wait :( |
and so they waited again
the lords who wrote
i'm runnin out of clever uses
of the words note
3:) |
Wow sorry poets for the wait! but hey we got more poetry now :D
It's finally done so good luck everyone. |
and.. the poets awaited their final waiting call
upon which the result's great burden would fall,
and all the competitors please beware
there couldnt be any cheating as all the judges are fair..
o:) |

plese post the result within 2hrs :P I won't b available tomorrow to see it :D |

So, ladies and gentlemen, the long waiting has come to an end.
We begin with sad news. The jury had to disqualify two of the poems completely:
- master_elbin (post n.8) - plagiarized (proof: http://www.poetrysoup.com/poems/best/tree)
- Sir__Ankur___ (post n.10) - plagiarized (proof: http://allaboutsportsandbooks.blogspot.ca/2011/05/game-of-war-war-is-game-it-proves-that.html)
The poem of PravinJ (post n.9) - didn't answer the contest rules (wasn't related to LWM and Heroes' world at all), so 2 of 5 judges gave it a zero mark. I didn't disqualify it though, the poem itself isn't really bad.
Two other works had some points deducted by judges cause they surpassed 64 lines (Sultan's and one of Igles works).
*Lord Syrian* would win the contest with a final 8.75 score (y, this is the highest among the works posted!), but, sadly, he was a jury member, so he competed out of contest this time. Excluding his work from final sheet :(
FINAL STANDINGS (judges: Arctic, Lord Syrian, Lady Laitha, Warlock Naviron, Worf):
K5isback - 7.6 (post 11)
ParaLeul - 7.4 (post 13)
Igles - 6.8 (post 2)
Igles - 6.2 (post 18)
Astrid Swift - 6.0 (post 19)
Igles - 5.8 (post 17)
devin_2011 - 5.6 (post 11)
devin_2011 - 4.6 (post 15)
siddi1111 - 4.2 (post 5)
Sultan9999 - 3.8 (post 7)
PravinJ - 2.0 (post 9)
Having to discard Lord Syrian (great work btw!), I hereby name K5isback the victor! Gratz to ParaLeul with 2nd place and Igles with 3rd.
I will speak to Arctic to distribute the prizes among winners. |
:P third place YAY!!! |
Guess i got a -2 on post 18 or i would have won :P anyway lets sulk!! |
Feeling a bit sad for PravinJ. The X-box poem looked funny to me, a pity it didn't match the rules, would certainly get more score.
Guys, please, NEVER plagiarize! If you found a poem to post in this manner, believe me that jury will find it too. To have to disqualify two competitors isn't nice at all.
Next time, by the way, ones caught with plagiarism during such contests will get a temporary forum ban. |
Gratz to winners ! |

Only the n.17 got a -1 deducted cause of too many lines. The n.2 (the 3rd place winner) wasn't longer, it didn't get any grades deducted:) Still a good solid job. |
Yeah man!
I can't believe i came first. i wanted a prize and was expecting something like third but first got me by surprise :P
I spent not more than an hour on that poem so yoohoo i get 40k gold for an hour.
Congratulations to paraleul and igles, you guys worked it out well too. I really thought you deserved it more than me. igles is right, had he not taken the 2 point penalty, i would have lost so i guess the virtual winner is him.
Id like to thank worf for this intiative. All the judges who worked hard on this contest i salute you!
And all my competitiors, dont let one poem competition make you lose your confidence. Poetry works on luck too, i managed to luckliy get a good poem done, |
Id like to thank worf for this intiative. All the judges who worked hard on this contest i salute you!
Worf said that i didnt get a 2 point penalty so :P anyway you won it fair and square k5 , i guess i have to venture out of the realm of abstract emotions :P |

I can understand why:)
The two plagiarized works were very nice, of course. So nice that one of the judges suspected they were "too good" for an amateur author. Thanks to this jury member again for his perception :) |
