Coldplay is good :p
LP fans, please don't mind me. Everyone has their own tastes, I agree but this is my personal opinion.
Except one or two LP songs, they are very less technical. Yes, I agree, their songs are good to listen, and so might be pop songs but when you listen to some other band (like coldplay for instance), you'll understand how much musical knowledge is displayed in their songs. And as far as linkin park is concerned, except the lead singer and the rapper, I don't know what the other guys do. As an example, take the lead guitarist (I think his name is Brad). In none of their songs, he has an even decent guitar piece. And so goes with the drums, all are basic rhythms. Yes, I must admit, the lead singer has a superb vocal range, good attitude and great voice. And the rapper is fine too.
Well, even I was a LP fan. The first English song I ever heard was Breaking the Habit and I loved it so much that I got interested into western music. But I seriously feel that LP songs lack the technique which makes bands like coldplay stand out. LP just has too much fan following. And just like pop fans, once you get into LP, you just hear only LP songs and many (like I was too) are unaware of the splendid music out there. |

i cant live without LP. Sometimes, you need to think the other way around and not be so theoretical. Its not always about music techniques and all that stuff; You need feel the emotions in there songs too...they sing lives the entire life story of today's youth in less than 5 minutes.
There are some things in my life that can't change: playing violent video games, lwm, listening to LP, taking dbz as an inspiration to name a few...
They contribute in various aspects in my life...
Waiting for the end, in the end, lost in the echo, new divide, castle of glass, Burn It Down, What I've Done, Points of Authority, papercut and many-many more...these summaries my life in a way which can't even be done by dozens of biographies...Lp is awesome and ive got millions of reasons to concrete this statement..

I agree. Music doesn't always need to be technical. I completely agree. And who said LP is a bad band? No one? Its just personal taste. All I am saying is if you guys step out and hear other bands, other alternative rock bands, then you'll know what I am saying. The problem with us Indians is that once we like something, we stick to it...we don't even try to see the world outside. |
