I don't mind a sensible discussion here if it's really what people wish to discuss. This topic seems to be more of a philosophical discussion around democracy rather than a political discussion per se

I don't think there is anything wrong with general discussion. I do not see an attempts to inflammate this place into a war zone with people taking sides.
It's just to see how sad the democracy is in which this world is running.
A majority of the people already know what's going on.
We talking about that isn't going to force opinions or thoughts into their heads.

I'm longing for neither. I don't know how criticism of the modern state of democracy must equate to wanting those things you said. Democracy might be the best, but in practice it is almost completely detached from its ideal and theoretical representation of people having all the power to choose the best leaders. It does not provide a way, yet, to choose reasonably the best leader among the people to lead the people. Its more or less the scenario where you are forced to vote for a presumably less terrible candidate amongst the very few overall options that happen to be plain terrible. |
