dwarf is fine as long as invokers don't get poor ini roll and get wiped out before they use their hydra rune.
overall feels easy up to now, although lost one with dwarf when invokers didn't do anything |
Has anyone looked at the effect of attack and defense increases? It seems to use different formula depending on the stats.
For attack and defense, the increase has pretty minimal effect.
Apparently, the increase is applied to the original stat of the unit, before it's modified by the lord. So for low level units, you can't realistically hope for more than one point increase.
Take my efk, for example. Its raw attack is 4. With the hero, its attack, after totaling the hero's primary stat and faction level, is 26. With a 22% increase, it becomes 27, not 32. That's because the 22% increase is applied to 4, not 26. So basically 27 is the maximum I can get, because to get 28, I would need 38%. I doubt there will be enough points for 38% increase even at level 50.
For initiative, on the other hand, the increase is applied to the hero-modified value. My efk's initiative is 17.6 with the hero. With 10% increase, it gets adjusted to 19.5 (my calculation shows 19.4, but somehow it's 19.5 in the game).
I really think that the calculation for attack and defense is a bug. It should be done the same way as the calculation for initiative. |

I'm pretty sure it's for the attack and defense parameters, because I can see the one point or two points bonuses due to these increases, depending on the units. |

Hm. I think you're right. They just use inconsistency terminology. The in-battle description shows "Damage" and "Protection". That's what they should say, instead of "Attack" and "Defense". |

since the horse rider ini is high I know that he will attack my dreadbanes first
so I put my Berserkers near him so they can attack him with madness ability
and 1 hit kill with luck :) |

Nice battle. I do however prefer max spears instead of max berserkers. Berserkers are very high damage unit, but after they go berserk once they are so easy to kill. And the AI focuses them before the dreads.
On the other hand spears are great at the start with their mayhem and later on they are my high HP retail unit for my ursary to followup on the attack. Especially with the resurrection rune used on them after taking retail.
I will see how it goes, now I only had time to go up to lvl 28, so far so easy... |

I use bersekers at the begin the same way as invokers, they kill 2-3 units and invokers has better place to hit more stack, look this example:
