Quite a few people adopt what the Germans say gesundheit, meaning health. Though I don't, I feel the phrase (given context) has separated itself from religious connotations. |

Maybe they spoke english, most of the people i have seen there especially those who dont speak English or are from the southern part say salute.

I did not know that, I see, maybe we should look at cultures that were out of english influence to see what other things people say. Prime candidates would be china and japan, i would ask some of my chinese friends. |
