Alas, in a century from now they'll say the same thing about us.
I envy them. They would know things we cannot even imagine. It is sad that even imagination is limited by our reality. How wonderful it would be to be interplanetary, live in a pollution-free society with no diseases, have no need to do mundane work. Future is so wonderful, yet I am not sure I will live to see it :( |
In my experience the average human is still pretty ignorant. Of course we are all ignorant of more things than we are knowledgeable, and thus it is healthy to accept and acknowledge our perpetual ignorance. It is not a good thing to be too secure in one's abundance of personal knowledge. |
That made me think of this animation by Tim Minchin
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhGuXCuDb1U
There is a line in it I rather like to describe this person who
"keeps firing off cliches with startling precision, like a sniper using bollocks for ammunition"
The sort of metaphor I would both want and not want to be used in an English class!
My favourite Tim Minchin thing though is this

My give you a subtle clue about me. |

Yeah, makes it a pain in the arse when we want to publish stuff but have to cater to the average person |
We should not teach the plebs how to read so we could freely write obscur theories for the elite. |
That way we would not anger people because they don't understand us. |
9261# I dont really know man...
IMHO, we have been born in the best time you can do so, I'd say.
I wouldnt like to be born in a super technological era.
I mean, people from our generation and the one past us, have seen the biggest "jump" in technology.
Im 23 y/o now, and I like to listen to music from the 70s or 80s.
Lol, imagine if we were born in year 2200 or so...
That would be history of books, they wouldnt live that, and I imagine it'd be SO sad IMHO.
IDK if I explained my point too clearly, also poor english xD
I hope you understood what I meant, |
elaborate please.

You're implying if music is old enough then we can't hear it?
Bach did his work around 1700s, we can hear those today. |

If my grandmother had ball bearing she would had been be a skateboard. |
Does anyone else think about the 'Simulation Theory' and if it'd be actually true? |
for General Zod:
It doesn't make any difference even if it's true. |
Yea i guess it wouldn't, but are you not curious to know what we really are? or probably how 'life' or 'consciousness' exists? or if there is purpose of life? |
No.
I think average people spend their time thinking and talking about these things, not that it is any productive. |
the game is still active.. i am returning after 4 5 years :D |
for minku1208: same :D |
Life is random with out purpose, it's humans dysfunctional that want's to give it a purpose. |
