Depending on preferences, could also do omelettes where people choose their toppings and fry it themselves. Omelette with rice is nice. |
Thats a good idea but it might be too simple.. I wanted to try something different, yet tasty and impressive (but also that i can do without tryharding :p)
There's 3 people coming btw and since its a long distance flight i wanted to make something for us. It might surprise my mom dad and sister since they have never seen my culinary genius. |
Oh, something fairly simple I did when I was trying to impress Katlin, stuffed chicken.
Just need fairly large chicken breasts, cook some veg like onions and mushrooms tax, butterfly the chicken, put the veg and stuff inside then wrap in foil and cook in oven. |
Er... ignore the word tax in the above post. |
Or something like creamy chicken and mushroom spaghetti |
butterfly the chicken
is this a typo as well?
I like this idea of stuffed chicken and i recently bought breasts and veggies.. I might do that but can you explain the "butterfly"? |
A simple go to recipe is probably lasagne.
How you can find lasagne easy? |
there are some relatively easy versions. But all of it takes too much time and effort which in the end does not seem to be worth it. |
Last time and only time when i made lasagne , i massed up those pasta what you put in middle , i thought i have bought those who dont need to boil before but actually they should be boiled before , so lasagne wasn't eatable :D Plus there si a lot of effort , so i agree with VV.
Easier to buy ready one and trow in oven :D |
but can you explain the "butterfly"?
Google is a thing ya know ;)
It's hard to describe, but it's basically to make a vertical cut in the middle to open it up.
How you can find lasagne easy?
The same way my 11 year old brother does :P |
Get one of those chicken or pork alredy stuffed things, or a pork poece for oven
Potatos lots..
3 orange 2 lemon squize them and get the juice.
garlic
oliv oil
Cut the potatos in medioum pieces and put them in the oven thing, one with closing top would be perfect, if you don't have one you should check more often if you have one you just let it be.
Put the meat on top of potatos in the middle of the thing.
If you get plain pork knife it in every 5-6 cm's and put one clove of garlic in it, if you get a stuffed thing no need garlic.
mix orange lemon juice with olive oil anf hit them.
rince the potatos and the meat with it to go every where.
salt paper on your liking.
pre heat the oven at 180c and put it in for about 2 hours +/-.
Check not to "drink" all the juices.
Potatos should be ready and knife should come out of the meat clean.
Good luck. :) |
You can do the same with a whole chicken but you only put lemons nd oil to that not oranges. |
+/- 3 hours (sory typo) needs at least 2 and half hours.

Stuffed chicken breast tastes good and looks impressive but is deceptively easy is you use the right ingredients. I cook it every year for our wedding anniversary (it's what we had at our wedding). Butterflying a chicken is just a fancy way of saying cut it open a bit so effectively it is thinner. Do this, put in some softish cheese (we use port salut, though would work with many) then wrap with Parma ham (this covers any |
Over zealous cutting) fry it off then put in the oven till cooked. Great served with asparagus fried in butter and dauphinouise potatoes(thinly slice potatoes, bring to boil in a mix of milk and cream and one Clive of garlic, then put in the often on a low heat till cooked through). Another easy thing to go with it is just some cherry tomatoes with some Italian seasoning on and some olive oil baked in the oven. You do some Pro and the rest is just left to the often. |
for Calamity:
omg i want to eat that dish. |
Then cook it :P |
Of course, going to make something before class tomorrow :D
I think making it today might make it taste not so good for tomorrow when they come. |
Good luck |
for Lord MilesTeg:
Who sells port salut? |
