Demon can be hard, since you are mostly playing with gated units. Once your horses are gone, there is always a chance that you suddenly die when your cave demons are targetted. On the other hand, normally you can do good damage, so even if you die, your team can finish the game :).

Let's just hope they don't make the AI much smarter ;-)
lvl 14-16, darkness demon, if used by able players, simply amazing. I've seen many impossible looking defenses scored as a win by versatile play of my DD teammates.
DD is the best for survilurgs, next to wiz...

yeah, and thats why the team suffers.. it has no bait and no damage on army untill the end.. :P

imagine a might guy teamed with 2 wizards , all the enemy units attack the might guy.. especially shooters create a big problem.
Teams with (chaos) wizards are good, (dare I say strong), but with measure. No more than 1 wizard per team.
PS: Also, wizard should not be highest lvl in the team. Best to be lowest level (but same level is ok too).

Wizardry should always be served with moderation.
best for the defence is tribal :P
i would say that choice of the faction is purely personal preference

i play dwarf and i can say the same for my faction
holy dwarf was great on lvl 11, now i play luck and moral build and it works very good
i think my record is 29 wins in a row, it could have been more, but my team mate had some problems with internet
and i do not play with enchants 90% of the time
team work wins defenses, not faction

although there are some principles on basic team setup, as naviron says
Wizard is average in defenses because dynamic balancing gives much meat in opponents and you have a hard time killing them only with spells. It depends much in opponents factions, some are OK (e.g knight, elf) and some are impossible (e.g tribal, wiz, necro with 2k+ skelies).

Higher level wiz with good opponent is doable:

And 2 wizards in same team can be good with proper tactics, 1 wiz with tempest, 1 wiz with dominion of fire and a high level might build can do miracles:

Does anyone else thinks that suddenly we are getting a little less FSP in the defense battles than usual?
for some unknown reason, both XP and fsp of defenses are lower now. Although ratio is the same, that's still annoying since we are investing same cost equipments as before

haha, don't know about barbarian, but demon is awesome in defense, a lot of possible strategies.

Dark Demon as support was a lot of fun for a long time (lots of long battles with very interesting endgames)

Red Demons gates are usualy only targeted if there is no life target in range... this information + last breath talent works very good.

All offensive talents, hit hard and die fast. Not my choise, but it works (espescialy if you do not play defenses very often)

Red demon from level 12 can have mass rapid AND mass delay... hmmm...
Red demon is normally not going to waste talents points on defensive talents, or darkness talents. Red demons are very good with off and luck talents, but sometimes you will just be killed first. But not without doing a lot of damage :)
Defences have now only 5 rows to fill?
