Of course many peopl haven't played yet or haven't used their silver yet so this isn't a representation of final ranking :P |
I have a question about the mechanics of the event.
Say a unit is worth 5 points, but its upgrade costs 1000 silver (so about 50 points).
You spend your silver upgrading, then if you lose that unit would you lose 5 points or 55 points? |
I also have a question. It it more efficient to go for super large upgrades, like 50 something monks to clerics for roughly 400k silver and/or bowmen for another 400k, or are raw numbers of non-upgraded units going to yield higher combat strength? |
Generally getting silver later on is going to be more efficient than early on, unless of course that upgrade massively increases your killing capacity.
Essentially when you recruit a troop your army will increase in strength, so you should be able to beat a stronger army, or the same strength with less losses, and by consequence get more troops next time around. In comparison gaining silver does not improve your army until you are in a position to invest it, which will often take several fights of silver collecting.
Since the formula for deciding how many creatures you will discover in the dungeon is linked to how many you have already recruited you will tend to hit a point of diminishing returns in getting the same creature. This will tend to be the point of collecting silver. The knack is then getting an army that works sufficiently well up to this point and judging when to make that switch.
I say this while having a rubbish score this time around. Lost 1 very early by fighting with all spell power and knowledge against a really really hard army, another to the bug with not gaining creatures in a cell, and then spent 10 fights with a shooter based army and defense stats (been playing as tribal and forgot to switch).
I know my theory, but been stupid at putting it into practice! |

Yeah, just wait till I play
... and wait, and wait, and wait ... :D |
49 silver gives 1 army strength? |
for General Zod:
Varies, gets lower later on. When I exchanged it was about 52. I remember near end of the event it gets to close to 60. |

I don't remember this.. |
yup, thats true, but not sure how the mechanism is working. |
I have 140 swordsmen.
crusader upgrade cost around 20k and guardian upgrade costs 59k
Guardian upgrade worth it? |
it's also good to keep in mind that once you upgrade some units, the amount of them you find will be significantly less, so for wardens and shrews you probably should upgrade only when you don't plan on taking more of them
I am facing this. I desperately need forest keepers but not getting any. |
Abh33 if you want a good score then you must go for the most expensive upgrade |
To get a super high score, once you have a stable killer army and the nerf to recruiting more of the same troop is significant, you start recruiting any old thing from an army you can wipe the floor with and have low losses.
This increases your army strength and score, though not your usable army. |
what is better between cerberi and blazing hound upgrade? |
for drdre23:
hard to tell. 1 can hit behind stacks other will hit harder but only front ones |
