Actually now that I read this
2) Difficulty depend on rank and combat level only (not related to win/loss rate)
it means that this time it's different, as I remember in the old type event it was crucial to time your losses right. Interesting that there's no dynamic balancing in this event, it's pretty much the standard these days. |
for Mammary:
I regret buying a cannon. better off throwing poo at them.
They are very useful for me! Since I'm playing a caster! They let me do 4-5 extra casts! Not bad at all for me! |
I have a picture from last pirate event in my photo album with rank up points, but now it seems something is changed. |
Sea Wolves :|

Yeah they are very dangerous |
for Naturef:
I saw that game and it just seemed impossible for your level. Your troops couldn't even deal the corsairs/women pirates. Maybe with enchants and more fiends, you would actually have enough damage for such battle. |
for virtual_vitrea:
Our minos died early so no time for debuff!
Else would have been atleast close! |
for virtual_vitrea:
Morale at the start was the culprit! |
Almost similar battle!

Impossible to win! |
Still too many priestess, corsairs, and sea lions. Real problem was those buffers who can cancel most your debuffs. |

Impossible to win!
Firstly, it always helps when players split up their troops appropriately and understand the intrinsic relative value of stacks. In this case, Demon fails to split troops and sends entire [hellhound] stack to block shooter, when just a single unit would have achieved the same goal, saving the larger stack for a more useful purpose.
Second, why did DE sequester the [minotaur]? This doesn't really have any value, because now DE can't utilize the high initiative value of [rogue]*, because it must stay in position in order to protect DE's strongest HP stack.
Third, [tamer] DE shouldn't have [hydra] in this situation. The initiative is too low to be of very much use. Much better to be able to split [rogue], [witch], or [lizard] one more time.
Fourth, RALLY (talent) is not very useful for [tamer] DE in this event. Those 8 extra points would be much better spent on Morale or Basic Darkness Magic or (for players above level 11) Basic Erudition.
*[tamer] DE [rogue] is better spent blocking the gangplanks so enemy units which do not have {LEAP} can't reach your tanks before they have a chance to move.
Fifth, proper distribution of Skill Points is of the utmost import. In this case, Demon for some odd reason has got 9 points put into Knowledge, but only manage to use 4 of those points before is demolished. Perhaps if Demon utilized (that) point herein named 'firstly', Hero might be alive to use those points, but in this particular case, Hero has essentially thrown away 5 Skill Points. And perhaps that is also too much Spell Power!
Finally, YES some battles are just totally uneven and wickedly unfair!! And maybe even this particular battle was one of them. But I think it is really careless to say "Impossible to win!" when it's so easy to point out so many shortcomings in basic strategy and essential tactics. |
for Xhuda:
On skill point distribution! 90% of time I run out of mana!
Our battles go long so SP is also required! In this case! I should have tried to hide in the start and split hellhounds! A lesson learnt :( |
How is this even possible to win?

A fine example there of why you should get a partner within the clan. Unholy necro is far superior to classic necro for this event. |
I dont know if anyone else has noticed how good laco24 and recorderPt are doing in this event. I don't want to jinx it (fortunately I don;t believe things work that way) but they have only lost one so far I think!
Thats the power of UN with necro rare set and DD. Not seen any of the battles, but I can imagine they are very impressive. |
Very important is to find good unit in cage too :) |

1. Initial placement of Griffin would have been better in the center, so it can use its high initiative to block either gangplank instead of a shooter which is likely to be surrounded by a number of 1-hit death squads.
2. Hero could use some additional initiative. At your level, Pirate Pendant and Master Hunter Ring of Dexterity are available.
3. Casting Mass Rapid on Necro didn't help very much; if your own units don't survive long enough for you to utilize all your spells, your magic isn't of much service.

I agree shopping in your own clan is useful, however I am not certain unholy necro is superior. In this case, the necro simply wasn't very tactful.
1a. 1 Spell Power and 4 Knowledge? That's pretty much pointless for any necro.
1b. Expert Defense and Vitality? Maybe useful with better tactics. But this necro used Elephants for Attack instead of using it to Defend Skeletal Bowmen. Much better options for talent choices.
1c. Basic Nature plus Dominion of Life alongside Basic Erudition plus Intellect with 11 remaining Talent points to toy with (at level 13) seems to be a good option. 6 Knowledge then becomes 9 raises; 6 Spell Power becomes 10 for Raise Dead, that is 360 Hit Point raise (with Advanced Nature option) as opposed to the 135 Hit Point raise that this necro went with.
2. Has Spirit Link but doesn't use it.
3. Uses Vampire to accomplish what Ghost is much better suited for. Additionally, uses to attack Corsairs instead of Buccaneers.
4. Attacks distant Women Pirates after Knight's troops have been killed, doing ~170 damage to a stack with only 80 hit points. That single attack would have been much, much better on one of the closer units.
On skill point distribution! 90% of time I run out of mana!
I would ditch Dominion of Curse and take Consume Corpse instead. Another option is to ditch Dominion of Curse and either Expert Darkness or Dominion of Pain and instead take Basic Sorcery plus either Mana Recovery (for very long battles) or Concealed Knowledge (for maximum value of existing Knowledge). |

My Teammate afk mid game ( probably rage quit because all his troops died early )
I ended up winning the battle (cursed treefolk and net cannon is so strong :P), but he ended up getting his silver coins anyway. Is this a bug?
I honestly don't think he deserve those silver coins ._. |
