Pretty sure you'd still be at the mercy of tribal, and if they decided to wreck you (which would be the case if you kept targeting them) with chain lightning, you would surely not score more than fifth or sixth. |
I am playing not for score haha, for tribal I go to mass decay build. with 35sp mass decay the tribal wont gain any spirit and start decaying. sky shaman wont pass the 500 spirit. |
for virtual_vitrea:
Not true unless you are shadow barb ;)
I faced tribals 6 times.. won 5 out of that.
I targeted them from beginning, reduced defense and my ogres was near them, so obv he cant do chain lightning to me, leading me to easy win all of the time.
Lost only once and that was my first battle of this tourney, didnt knew much so avoided tribal and later his sky shamans single handedly killed everyone. |
Your ogres were able to make it next to them while you disrupted?
He didn't reach spirit level 2 before that happened even with all the delay/rapid and rituals?
I know for certain shadow barb is helpless if he didn't start in the next block to tribal. That is because, i played shadow barb for 16 of 20 tournament attempts and I completely focused on the tribal but couldn't stop their shamans because they were properly guarded by their large tiers.
Even if the tribal loses all defense, he doesn't really need it if nobody is attacking their shaman. Or if the shooters are out of game already. At least, that is exactly what the AI did every single time. Then i played tribal for the next 4 games, and it was a massacre. I was controlling the whole field and everyone was at my mercy :p Of course this only became possible because of the stupid AI which completely ignored my shaman in those games. |

Correct! here the wizard who was away from me(tribal) started attacking me because he knew that I am human player.
See, how I wrecked him.

Same thing with the mass decay guy, casting decay again and again on me. |

for bheem:
thats because the DE have low sp for CL 16, and you can take both barrier and resistance at lv 16.
I am still lv 14 so the condition may be reversed (ie: tribal wrecked) thus we both can be correct. dont forget blind and berserker spell is viable with so high sp. |
Luckily in all attempts, whenever real tribal player came, it was just adjacent to me. So my ogres could make it to them along with birds' help. |
Tip for Tribals going against Shadow Barbarian...
Keep your Enforcer / Warlord out of 5x5 in the FIRST turn. Trust me, more than Sky Shamans these guys can wreck that Ogre. I've had a battle where my opponent Ogre lost 5 Turns thanks to Intimidation Aura.
Use Sky Shaman Secondary Stack to Delay Ogre Magi if you see him Disrupting you in first turn.
Don't even bother Zapping anything else. From the very first turn Zap the Ogre.
If Behemoth and Boar Riders are blocking Ogre's Exit, Keep Wyverns ready to block them, it'll give you precious 2-3 turns of extra Sky Shaman Boost.
Don't be scared to engage full stack of Ogre with your Warlord if it is not disrupted. Full stack of Warlords can wreck Ogre easily. |

Playing tribal in this tournament as cl 15 felt like i was using godlike cheats which automatically won me games without thinking, well but sadly not 100 points AI too strong. |

Wow amazing score.. congratz! :) |
Love the format of this tourney - with complete blindfold, 2vs2vs2 and everyone-for-one-self BUT can someone please tell the responsible department that the AI behavior need some serious looking in to!
It takes everyone 2 minutes (depending on how many turns you can avoid waywardness) - to figure out that Tribals are WAY overpowered. I know this issue has been mentioned before - but why is it not rebalanced immediately?
Tribals seem to be free to do whatever they like for as long as they like - and they are specifically build to benefit from passive behavior. It seems they only get targeted if they are in the way or accidentally are standing too close to a "more dangerous" enemy!?
Do we have some insightful players (or someone with connections to the afore mentioned department), who can enlighten the less informational privileged on some of the basic AI mechanics? - as the erratic AI behavior is über frustrating!
1) Can AI be affected by waywardness? if so how do they manage to defend an entire battle? - if not, then AI waywardness would be an obvious, easy fix to break time consuming deadlocks.
2) What is the different ways you can avoid waywardness (while not attacking)?
3) What are the types of "offending moves" which, when performed, turn AI from blind pacifists into a killing frenzy mode, which makes you their mortal enemy for the remainder of the game no matter how many hits they may take from the others?
- direct hero attack?
- move around the battlefield without attacking/behaving abnormal?
- be the first to attack?
- attack more than one enemy?
- backstab?
- be a specifically "hated" faction or have "hated" creatures and do one of the above?
- be of a different alignment (good/evil) and do one of the above?
casting non-HP reducing offensive spells seems to be just fine - disruption and weakness at least not sure with delay.
I am aware that this could come off as whining about the unfairness of Tribals - and it sort of is - but my main point is actually AI mechanic information sharing, which may ease my future frustration considerably.
Happy tribal-hunting - and good luck (you gonna need it)
:) |
cast confusion and weackness on warlords and enforcers they become pretty useless and after mass sloww keep on disrupting them dont waste to much time with ogress like casting 2 chastise but charge right away specialy with behemod belive me his enforcers and worlords wont engage becauseu might cripple hiss precious tribal points at this stage
show no mercy to the tribal he sure ass hell wont show u any
finished with 90 points :)
would have been more if i didnt make some rookie mistakes in the 1st matches like giving tribal some breathing room |
6battles, 5wins. And i dont have time to play anymore. :@ |

was fun but i could have done better
I targeted them from beginning, reduced defense and my ogres was near them, so obv he cant do chain lightning to me, leading me to easy win all of the time.
this only works if you are next to him, i had a barb target me from start... in the end my defence was 0 and i still wrecked him |

Yes. I can second this. I was in this situation both as a shadow barb and then as a tribal. Barb was easily dealt with if he is not in the adjacent block. |
Very strange, I never lost against tribal till now. Faced 6 times in lvl 14, won all except 1 because it was my first battle, I didn't targeted him.
Now at lvl 15, faced tribal twice and defeated them both times. |
well as you mentioned Night-crawler, you were very lucky and was placed next to the tribal :D |
Yes true.. just faced tribal opposite to me, and came last in that battle xD :/
I hate tribals. :/ |
for Night Crawler:
Use Delay + Disruption Build. Not just Disruption. |
