for Skafid:
Ah right sorry I misunderstood, but if memory serves, I don't recall any event that actually last even a month long! | for Usbeorn:
Rebel event certainly came close; it lasted 28 days.
I don't think this event should be ongoing, but I believe it should be worked in as a feature of the game somehow. | rebel event could only lastlong because we coudn't kill ringleaders in time...
Btw this event is getting tought , 30/22 with 12 active records | @Angel of Death, I see you have not understood the point that I was making. Yes, on the first day, had one immediately started playing it, the hunts would have been easy, but that was not my point. That the record would get stolen was and is not the issue either. My point was and still is that one does not have the chance to be able to build up to it. The person that got to play that hunt had the chance to start it from the beginning and building up to its current record. The people that come after it have to jump right into the record of it without having that same chance to build up to it.
It is the first event where ones difficulty keeps increasing without even having played it. Every event would start with everyone having the same chances, this one does not.
Imagine the pirate event where the minimum cargo would keep increasing to the current record one while you have yet to do any, how many would still be able to play it?
And records? I don't see them as records, I see them as having been lucky to have played it as first before anyone else had a chance to, and he kept on increasing it till it became undoable.
Now if someone would get a record at 4th day orso by jumping into it without having done that hunt before, now that would be a record, but having a record from day one were you were the first and only one to have played it? That I do not consider a record, I consider that the boasting of a coward.
This event would have been better if we all had the same chances. The hunts should have appeared for all of us as a fresh list with the current record of it next to it. This way we all would have the same chances of being able to build up to it instead of now going blindly and futile into it.
And I wonder how large the hunting list is, having kept pressing pass on day one, I haven't seen that many different ones, my guess is 100. | [Post deleted by moderator velniukstis // As requested on post 87] | 17/23 12 records | Oh my bad, post 85 I used classic demon, whereas now I'm DD. Any mods do kindly delete post 85. | my 2 cents:
#1
"hunter event", and no hunter arts allowed? lolz
#2
the "10 random huntings" seem pretty much "prefixed huntings" to me.
weirdest event ever. which makes it kinda cool, actually. | I'm playing as an elves and those record are hard to break, but not unbeatable. Just keep try and change strategy if failed. Of course some luck needed to break record especially 2 miss on phantom.
Oh yes, this is first event most player disliked and my dream to get some easy hunter guild point broken.
:/ | I understand your point Lawton, but what makes this event challeging is exactly because this, it 'force' the player to taking some risks.
9 - 10 tries, is a VERY limited amount of tries, if the player spend 2 - 4 tries per hunt to build his personal record, and still leave the chances of this particular challenge been taken, the odds are this player will end with a very limited amount of active records. It's definitely not worth more than 1 try per hunt, unless someone else stolem it from you, and you think you can take it back, and make it impossible to be stolem again.
As I see, this event was designed to make players try different factions (unloved ones), and be extremely adaptative. In my case for example, this event did force me to find a better necromancer build to survive, and stop playing without care, which basicaly turns the game much more tactical for me, something that I have long forgotten, due GB people skills, and I love it. This is a strategy game, this must be a tactical game.
Yes, this event isn't easy, agreed, but as I see this was exactly the point, not being easy and force players to be adaptative, if he/she wants keep competitive. | I am frustrated by this event.
I used to hunt back at .com times and held many hunting records. Yet I made them using either hunter arts (GH or later BB), not shop arts thus I have trouble judging the strenght of my troops in full shop arts.
Furthermore, the later you start with this event the less probable it is for you to win.
I am few hundreds FSP short of FLVL 11 while records are held (and by all means that makes sense) by players with FLVL 1 or 2 higher.
I wonder why didn't we just get same number of creatures to hunt and try to beat or own records first? At the end of the event player with highest personal record would win the prize - same model as we see during pirate event. Now the best will get even better (win means more exp and FSP and possible loot + special prize at the end of the event) which is OK as I always support the idea to reward the most active players, however current model of this event discourages casual players (like myself) from participating.
Oh, yes, I still own 3 records from the first day of the event, but I'll be surprised very much if they hold until end of the event (or even the day :) ). | Nice event. With AI with a brain and mixed armies, it makes for fun fights. Plus, it feels different than the usual events. | @overclocker
You have the best idea to make this event fair for everyone. At the moment is is very unfair for some players at our level. Firstly, the player who gets to play first locks out other equally good players. Also the whole event is hugely biased towards players who have concentrated all their fsps into one faction and have higher fsl than other players.
As you suggest we should all start with the same stack sizes regardless of how other players are doing. We should all have our personal record against each stack combination. The player with the best personal record for his level and faction would then get some bonus points. If more than one player had the same score the bonus could be shared.
If the event was organised like that I would play all the games just for the fun and experience / fsp which has a very good ratio. At the moment my 3 playable factions stand no chance against players who are often less active than me but who fortuitously concentrated all their effort into one faction.
This is a particular problem for players from level 12 through to 16 who have diversified into more than one faction. Below that level the differences have less impact and above that level it is still possible to have one faction at level 10 or 11 even if a lot of points are in other factions.
JJ | The entire life people complained how not so necessary/important dark elven fsl was, mainly for might based builds. Now 1 - 2 levels is making the difference between holding a record or not?
Thing is, everyone wants to win, but not everyone is abled to. | sorry for being out of context but can anyone please tell me what the rebel event was? 28 days really sounds ridiculously long XD | It was an event in May 2011 where we had to fight rebel factions, containing of DE and Barb troops. It was the event that introduced some of the alt DE troops to the game (minor, liz and termagant). The enemies hid in a dungeon and we had to fight through the levels. At the 4th level there were ringleaders of the rebellion.
The biggest problem was that if you lost troops on previous levels in the dungeon, they stayed dead for the next one. So most people went into the last level (if they even got that far) with almost no stacks left, or even in 1 or 2 vs 3. And there you had to defeat a strong army and a boss. Since some bosses were insanely hard and it took over 30 minutes per battle (so over 2 hours per attempt to kill a leader) the event lasted very long.
Sample combat (third level): https://www.lordswm.com/war.php?warid=497572026<=-1 | this is one of the most interesting event till now, very good balance designed.
you can chose play early to gain hg points, or play later to gain a better chance of records. if you want to get both, you have to suffer higher risk of losing.
for those complain about low fsl, fsl does not serious matter in hunting, especially if you compare it with other events such as pvp tournament or so. | Re Faction level I have played 5, won 2 and still got one of those - quite unremarkable, however I am faction level 6 Dwarf at level 13. So therefore it is very possible to get records when there are people with much better faction levels than your own, and this is with a faction that FL is really quite important for more than just the extra stats.
ps I hope no one hunts down my record now to beat it as obviously it should be beatable. Crossing my fingers and hoping no one tries it much before the end of the event...... | RR is right. cool event. you dont get it all | I don't know what kind of an event it is as compared to others, but I'm really enjoying this event. Even though the hunts require full AP and I'm broke. Even though the reward is just some gold per hunt and nice FSP. Even if there is no promise of a nice reward in gold.
I'm really enjoying this event..especially because it's PvE :) |
