I have three points to cover here:
1. If Pang recruited mods for chat, what are they doing in the forum? I mean there are 3 independent clans:
#10 LWM - Forum moderators
#11 LWM - Chat moderators
#266 LWM - Help and Reference
There was only one announcement for recruiting and that was for #11. Instead I see new members in the other 2 clans, too. Isn't that an abuse of power and/or intentionally misleading of the regular players?
2. All I can see in this thread is a pointless discussion while the facts remain the same: unjustified bans (I am not talking about my last ban), topic moved here and there as the moderators don't agree on where to put it, deleted posts while somebody is defending him-/herself, closed threads just because a moderator didn't like them, off-topic posts allowed by the moderators and so on. And what answer is given when somebody is complaining about the moderators? Write to the Secretary account. Yes, I wrote and I was ignored if any of those mails were ever read. And I am not the only one in this situation. And, yes, Modi is right: as long as all the moderators are friends, there will never be impartiality from the "judges".
3. You want to help community to understand better the game rules, allow free discussions in CaA because in this moment there is only one rule: you can post only if the application is related to you or bring new evidence. So, as far as I noticed how the things go there, here is the system: the accused player stands alone against a pack of wolves. You don't believe me? Just look in CaA and you will see many players posting some lines from the accused player transfer log accompanied by a full comment of the posting player. What about the rule of personal comments not being allowed? Hmm... who cares? But in this way the "justice" is seen on this forum.
I beg for all of you not to take any offence from my words because they are not intended to bring any offence. All I wanted to say here is that with the lack of punishments for the moderators, this forum is something like: "you are free to shut up if you don't share our common point".

How so? TS was then asked by Arctic to recruit new members to build up the team again. Whether a recruiter does a public recruitment or personally approaches those they feel best suited for the job is choice left to the recruiter by Admins themselves. Pang just happened to choose one way and TS another, neither are wrong and both allowed by mod clan rules with Admins approval. |

And 3 out of 4 new hires are from WG. TS is from WG. This closed hiring system may be legal but it also smacks of clan cronyism. It is a tad ridiculous to those on the outside to hear these clan/family member connections have nothing to do with who gets hired. This was raised before and it happened again in the latest round of hires. The only reason this conversation is going this far is because of Arctic. It should have been dealt with before and rectified but it sure wasn't. If I did not raise this issue it would be business as usual, wouldn't it? How about going out of your way to spread the mod jobs around to the community, not continuing with excuses why you just couldn't find anyone better for the job than friends and clan mates? Just because you are a current mod doesn't mean you can't be guilty of something. You really can't see how this all looks to the rest of us? Really? |

I didn't say that, you did. I never claimed to not see things from your or any non-mod's viewpoint because I do see it...I was once a non-mod and quite active and not in the so called 'circle'. But just because I acknowledge it doesn't mean you're entirely right. I will leave it to Arctic to settle the matter. |

Well thank God for Arctic! What could have been done before was to find a solution for the appearance of cronyism. Instead we got brushed off. If you can see it from our point, why didn't you sit down with us and help solve things? The way we were dismissed(not by you but as a group) left us very unhappy and it did nothing to quell the resentment that some felt. I can write down multiple solutions to this problem without thinking very hard about it so I do not think anyone really cared what we thought. Otherwise something would have been done. While you are open for discussion to a point now, this was not the case before Arctic was here(for this topic). Now we are dealing with 8 new recent hires, 7 of them with connections. I want this game fixed in all ways. Arctic is fixing the upgrades, we are fixing the cheating reports, and hopefully the mod problem will also be solved. What a wondeful server this will be. It has already calmed way down and that is a good thing. |

Ok point taken on that one, we didn't sit down with you and solve it. But believe me things were being discussed after that, matter was looked into deeper and *some* changes have since come about. Should we have taken it public? That was being discussed too but no consensus was reached and then Arctic came back and things are put on hold till he's able to free some time to address the issues himself. |

The latest infraction. This could have been from a long time ago and just got taken care of, that I don't know. What I do know is that it looks bad to be a chat mod with this sort of thing coming to light.

Now once more I will present the facts and this time I will copy/paste and send off to Arctic so he can read what is being deleted.
For as long as I can remember, the Trade and Service section was left alone and players who posted there were able to bump their topics without penalty. Then without warning, a moderator decided to begin handing out bans for flashmobbing.
Before I opened my original thread, I stopped by the inquiry room and asked a moderator about what was allowed in that section and he told me as far as he knew, the section allowed bumping of threads. We all were quite used to this.
This ban reached me and several others but did not fall on some who had twice as many "infractions." There is no room for selective punishment on this server. Either ALL get punished equally for the same infraction or nobody does. What we want is a clarification to avoid bans in the future and for justice to be given to ALL who go against said clarification. If this was a ban imposed on one player, then Secretary must step in but it has been imposed on multiple players and thus is a growing problem that needs to be cleared up. Draconian use of power will not be accepted without our voices being raised against it. This thread was opened up for EXACTLY an occasion as this. The clan bumping debate was legally discussed here and this is the same sort of issue. Arctic, please make a ruling and also if you would be so kind, do not allow our one thread to be shut down where we are to be able to discuss rulings.
Admin dealt with the situation in the Trade section by making an auto-halt so that threads won't be bumped within in hour. To me and obviously the multiple players who were banned, we thought we were legally posting in that section. Now we find out that the ruling has changed. If this is the future of that section, we would like a sticky created to avoid bans and certainly want the same justice for all players who break a rule, not just some.
Finally, this thread was created to clear the air on such rulings and to have posts deleted just shows there is indeed a problem here that needs to be addressed. |

Well I can only say that the rules for the T&S section of the forum have not been changed.
Other players who received a warning for it have contacted me in a polite manner and together we have discussed the warning. I'm always willing to explain my actions by private mail, as long as people stay polite to me and give a constructed opinion.
Since there have been a couple of complaints this point will be discussed and I think that soon it will be clear if the flashmob part of the forum rules is also in effect in the T&S section. |
