Most of my comments are about thieving. In hunts, the wolves are excellent. Unless you have a speed 8 enemy, you can also tend to juggle around the combat order to get 1 wolf or a hob or something to take the retal, so your wolves have no retal done on them from the 1st mega stack of enemies that you hit. |
best thing in lv5talent is weighty weapon, basic offence and thrusting might.
barb have strong bonus in attack for your hero and 350% more attack its a huge damage like lv 14 wiz nrmal attack |
@Tom3000. I disagree. That's 28 talent point. You can get battle fury + luck with that.look how much extra damage goblins and orcs do with battle fury. |
another question : who can i take down a necro in lvl 3 if im a barb |
Necros are strong early. What you want to do is give yourself as many orcs as possible, but then that's nearly the case in all levels. After that as many wolves. Goblins the last. You want wolves as they take up 4 squares. The deal with necros is to step on corpses. IF you have a unit where the necro unit fell, it can't be raised.
Also, at level 3 do they have ghosts? The technique to deal with ghosts is to split off a few 1 man groups of orcs. Use the 1 man groups and hopefully you'll get 2 misses. After you've got 2 misses in a row, your next attack will automatically be a hit. Use your big group of orcs, wolves, whatever can hit them. Also, if you've used a unit to take the retal, wolves are good against ghosts as 1 of their 2 attacks will normally hit.
The other thing is, don't be frightened to put your orcs in melee. They have no melee penalty. Many people, especially if they've played elves, avoid putting their missile troops in melee. If you have a 1 man orc unit, attack with it to take the retal. |
Hi guys i just reached level 5 and i have 2 questions.
1. Thrusting might or basic offense for a talent?
2.what should i get first, hob hall or stunning blow? |
sorry for double post, but i also want to know, without hob, should i max wolf or gob after orc and ogre |
thrusting might for danielns and u should max ogres, orcs and wolfs or u can take one ogre and swap for more wolfs |
lv5 -> basic luck |
Thanks, i have basic luck, but now hob hall or stunning blow? |
both! stunning blow first then hob hall if you can afford it |
What mercenary quests are doable for a level5 knight? |
Anyone where you have to defend a good missile unit. With Grandmaster bowmen, you just block any attack going to the bowman, and let them slaughter the enemy. The 1st few Guarding the farmers is easy as well.
The ones where there's an army and you get three goes to defeat the army, I found them easy. With the 1st fight, focus on what would be best to kill so the next fight is easier. But also, remember, you have your slow ogres. It's better to kill a missile unit, so that next combat, your ogre will have a melee unit to bash up on his way to the missile units that survive. |
how about a good set up for demons lvl 6 i find them hard to defeat |
In regards to talents look at what they do and do some maths. Basic luck means you have a 1 in 10 chance of doing double damage. That gives you 10% extra damage a turn. Basic offence gives you 10% extra damage, so they are having the same overall effect. You make the choice of wanting all your guys to do a bit more damage, or hoping to get the luck hit. If you think the fight will be close but you think you'll win, go basic offence. If you think the fight is close but you'll just lose, go luck, as an early luck hit may make the difference.
Thrusting might will mean about an extra 20 points of damage, at best, for your hero. If your guys do more than 200 points of damage a turn, either use luck or offence. Better return. |
I do more ambushes and merc missions than PvP so this is more of an educated guess.
I think Demons are great in PvP because they have the time to use their summon ability at it's best. To kill demons is all about focusing on the real units.
Your orcs will probably shoot earlyish. it's important you hit someone who hasn't summoned yet, so that you reduce the amount of summoned creatures.
Don't clump units, especially the groups of 1 hobgoblin you may have peeled off, who's job is to die from retal.
You then have to jockey around for position. Sometimes it is worth putting your ogres somewhere they can be hit, if it gives your orcs a chance to shoot within range 6, or drags the attacker close enough that your hobs can hit. Ogres have 50 hit points and decent defence ,so even if they get hit 1st (which is often what determines the winner in PvP, the first solid melee hit), they can take it without being too hurt, and then it lets your hobs get in there and hit things. |
guys this is barb faction topic, i meant to write barb instead of knight, sorry.:(
Any tips for merc for level 5 barb? |
for danielns13:
pvp as much as you can. You are in one of the best level to win all pvp. ^^ |
mercenary for lv 5 barb:
vanguard of knight, vanguard of wizard, vanguard of DE(you can win this, but i don't recommend it. GMB will kill most of the enemy, giving you little SP)
tier 1 monster and shooter-type monster |
thanks, i tried army of barb and was able to do that pretty easily |
