The talent beastmaster is required for the upgraded troops.
Without talent, you have normal harpies and spiders. |

Just a thought, anyone tried tamer DE in watchers - clearly the A priori thing about each battle being won before for these cannot be true since it has only just been released! I wonder what they have done therefore? |
From the looks of it, it is a very very weak class.
At combat level 15 I get only max 23 termagants, with rally it becomes 29 while normal darkelf has 80 shrews. And max only 8 foul hydras while normal can get 18. 2 dragons while normal DE has 3. With only 4 lizardchargers more than the regular DE you will feel pretty naked and get killed off in an instant since your opponent doesn't have to kill your summoned creatures. A wizard will wipe the floor with it. From the pretty naked talent wheel and low creature count it's crystal clear that hardly any thought went into this. |

That's what they said about Charmer Elf, and guess who is one of the most feared faction in PvP (though not every level per se)? Don't judge just too quickly, alt DE is finally here after all the whining and just take a step back and enjoy :) I'm sure admin will come with some balancing updates, etc eventually. |

Skill: Lord of creatures
Description:
Calls on underground creatures will be improved.
Not much info anyway. The most scaring is not even there (.ru server) they don't have the racial skill description yet. The only info regarding it is on the official announcement, made to the .ru players:
Fractional ability "Call of underground creatures" - allows you to call on the battlefield dungeon creatures: spiders, harpies, the evil eye, the trolls. The number of creatures summoned depends on the level of skills, and the types of creatures depend on the level of military buildings and the castle.
My thoughts: they have a weak recruit count, but not too weak like the charmer elves. You won't be playing with termagants and hit and run anymore; their core units are the stalkers and minotaurs gladiators, which have a very good recruit count. At my combat level, using the rally talent, I can have 93 stalkers, 81 minotaurs and yet 21 chargers and 11 mistresses. It is a OK recruit count of troops, and I don't even tried to optimize it yet. And remember, they increase their recruit count with the beastmaster thing.
The thing I like most about this faction is their talent wheel. They have:
-Offense talents: 8 points
-Defense talents: 10 points
-Fortune talents: 10 points
-Leadership talents: 8 points
-Erudition talents: 8 points
-Darkness magic talents: 8 points
Some mix of offense talents and defensive ones, with equaled attack and defense atribute points, seems like an ideal option for pvp, like the classic red demons are doing right now. With all that meat from minotaurs, it looks promising. And, of course, the best thing: they can get the innate swiftness talent. |

That's because you want to play as old DE. That's like saying dark barbarian is weak because they can't rely on orcs.
Their mino stack is so meaty it's probably even stronger than guardians... But unlike guardians, they can hit in first move with tactics and swiftness. |
I personally liked this build.
Going with full parameters on defense, makes mino even more tanky.
And in the same time, I keep defending on back with hydras, while keep summoning creatures and playing and killing with them. xD
Full change of strategy as compared to classic DE. Admins did quite a good job here. (y) |

Lizard upgrades are meh.
Normal lizards are often more useful. |

1 stack of invisible unit can easily stop the "main" unit of opponent.
Also gladiators with +3 morale will be a real pain... |
they have too much mino and remember their t6 is no longer shooter,it can deal full dmg on melee and has big numbers and invisible |
How should a Lv10 Tamer DE duel against a Normal DE? |
Ok this faction is really a very good one.
Good Points-
1. Very,very good tier 1 upgrade. I mean i didnt even make poisoners till i reached lvl 11 and that too out of fun.
But these stalkers are really damn good and hard hitting.
2. Minotaur gladiators are much better than normal minotaur soldier. Higher attack, defense and damage , higher hp and best is its aura.
To me the difference between these 2 is the same as difference between a wolf raider and a boar rider.
3. Better skill wheel cause I personally like Might DE, and theirs is perfect for them.
Not to forget Innate Swiftness
4. Beastmaster skill is pretty good. I mean yeah they are similar to gated creatures you dont need to kill them to end the game but all of us know that gated creatures that demons have really do a lot of damage cause its not possible to kill an enitre army quickly.
The only thing that I dont like about them are their lizard chargers and termagants
I mean yes their damage lies in stalkers and minos but to me shrews are anyday better than those silly termagants. Only higher hp is the difference.
Similarly I feel Lizard Charge is one of the best ability in this game which our new upgrade lacks. And believe me that breakthrough and increased hp doesnt compensate for that.
So thats my view :) |
