AuthorMerge Lordswm.com with Heroeswm.ru
The problem is that .ru was never designed for more than 1 language. No, it isn't as simple make it out to be where you just translate a document.

That depends on the code structure. Right now it is probably just as you say, so every piece of text is most likely within the code, which makes translations extremly hard to do.

Adapting the code to support multi-lingual interface would require replacing every bit of text in the code with reference number or name. Each reference would correspond to a database lingual table record, where various language versions would be kept.

textID00001 |privet|hello|bonjour|etc.

Therefore we don't have text in the code, so nothing has to be translated directly there. There's just non-lingual reference. Yes, that is a lot of work to be done, but in the long term it does save time needed for direct translations within the code and maintance over two code versions.

This way translators could access the external database (so they don't even have access to game database) via special interface allowing them to change database records and translate from Russian to English. Then the translated external database could be imported into the game database and voila! Code doesn't need to be translated EVER AGAIN.

I'm not a programmer but I do know something about coding and I work on games projects with a really good one, so I get to see how he solves such problems. And I surely can relate to reluctance as far as releasing the code to other people goes. You trust it to a wrong person believing they have good intentions to help, and who knows what he or she might do with it. Either way what happens, it might bring plenty of problems to the code authors. So I can't blame them to refuse others see the code.

no action talk only
I dont get why admins didnt just restarted the tournaments they already implemented on regular basis (like survival every 2 weeks). I think minor/mixed tournaments may have saved this server from running out of ppl... . But now as there are just 500 players online at peak, merge will be the only solution for .com.
no action talk only
more like no action no talk :p

for Mr_Miyagi:
What I don't get is why survival tournament goes on when it was first introduced like a temporary unimportant thing. Then all those events and other tournaments (except minor/mixed) only have 1 go.

Even without advertisements, new events/updates, merge, transfer, and other things requiring heavy admin involvement, there are many easy things admins could do to keep the server alive. But no one knows why the admins do (or don't) what they do.

A few years ago server was a good 400-500 online. Now it's only 150-200. Of which most of them are probably multis. :(
When something happens here, like some events few years ago, the peak online count went to 1200~. A big thing, like the merge, might make some of the bored to death players come back and play. Although then it wouldn't be very noticeable, since 10k average of .ru would simply increase by a few hundred players.
