eh Pang, ok, since i have some time, i will explain a thing or two.
i understand that you want to make a precise game classification but the author just doesn't ask for that. there are various... let's say alcoholic drinks, made from different ingredients. but you don't classify them by the type of their ferments, right?
so, is that mean different game type like strategy game, ... should have same position? LOL
they should't. and nobody means it. that's why people placed their favorite games with it's genres on different positions ;}
is that mean you should rate a strategy game with how good is the story line? ;p
again, nobody does that. people just rate the titles brought them maximum fun per hour (if we put it mathematically :). and then, by looking at their classifications, you can easily say which is somebody's favorite genre.
besides, you can't compare a strategy game with how good is the story line because RPGs are a bit more complex thing. they are rated also by their atmosphere, graphics, personages, funny (or boring) dialogues, interesting (or not) quests, battle engine, interface, and probably more.
for example, RPGs are by far my favorites but the fourth place in my list would have been 4) Civilization IV - Colonization :} |
