I think Monks are the worst I mean really I never lost a Knight merc quest

i would say different situation call different unit.
in throne battle, as you can see monk and roc are almost the weakest. but what if the monk and roc lead by hero? that's different story. monk with training chamber will have excel number; roc can do better with stunning blow assist. |
When you look at the upgrade difference then Thunderbirds are pretty weak. They get the chance to have lightning, they get from speed 8 - speed 9 which is amazing, but they also get only 10 extra hit points.
Hydras get an extra 40 hit points. That's huge. Yes they are incredibly slow. But while they are lumbering forward, all the enemy effort is on getting those shrews. Any unit who gets within range of the shrews gets within range of the hydras. |

And the one that say Archliches arent good will like losing X numbers of troops each acts for 4 turns :) Especially Shrews, Cerberi and Sprites |
I saw a 6 FFA on .ru where the archliches wtfpwned this DE. Killed like all his shrews, liz and some hydra in one lucky in range shot (He started next to the DE).
Needless to say, that doesn't make archliches a good upgrade. Just the lich unit type does have some potential. |
