@39. There is no mistake. The game is not incredibly simple and is on a computer. Thus, if you can play one has to assume a basic level of ability to function in society.
So let us think. You can use real world money to get in game gold, or you could make a string of multis to funnel gold to one account. Why would amyone ever donate in that case? They wouldn't! Obviously that must make it wrong.
I'm tired of all this 2nd chance rubbish. The rules are obvious. Nearly all cases, the rule breaker knew what they were doing. |
Will there be death sentences? |

Pat you are on the right track. The last game I worked for we had that system and it worked well enough however they could not make multiple accounts like they can here but still +1 |

I disagree with this. Especially at low levels, most infractions are because of not reading the rules.
I myself confess I haven't read the rules until after level 5-6 (if not more). When you start a game you want to see how it is, to get the feeling of it. There are immense number of online-games out there, and it makes sense you check the waters to see how/if you like. Who has time to start reading the rules of all the games one tries, and only afterwards start playing? Only after spending some more time I got to get more accustomed with the internal mechanisms (who is who) and rules and whatnot...
So yeah, not only for "saving" some people and working as a warning system, a jail might add more dimension to the game play as well. Maybe even make someone more unlucky or less morale trigger incombat if it has a summed-up long jail term... and so on...

You can also if it is a small inringement enable something where the MC that the jailed person is in can team up 5 people to fight the "guards" to free them |
nice idea

-1 not a good idea |
Some other games often don't have any limit on the amount of multi accounts you can have so I can understand someone making more than 3 multis. As soon as you start trading money between the multis, I think it's fair to say most rational people would know that it is wrong without having to read the rules. |

I don't think it is fair. There are many kids playing the game. What is rational to you, might not be rational to a 12 yo, say.
When kids do something wrong, you teach them by negative reinforcement: a little slap or grounding for a day, etc... Not to harm them, but to make them understand it is wrong.
You don't cut a kid's head as soon as he stepped in the wrong direction. |
