Thief can't choice "victim", he can set only trap.
More ofter caravans fall into trap.
Don't forget that into trap may fall higest level player then thief. |
I agree - currently, the Thieves' Guild invitation looks more like a swindle than anything else...
1. You can purchase it as soon as you're level 6, but you can only encounter players of level +/-2 compared to you AND at least level 6. So it's more like 6-8 if you are level 6... LOL
2. If more than one player gets by you may play 1-2 battle... LOL again
3. If, by accident, you ever manage to ambush a weaker player (like, you're level 7 and managed to trap a level 6) the weakest player will receive Monks to compensate... Monks are like Elven Druids on steroids... LOL
I may consider the invitation if I ever get to level 8, but before, it's really asking to be beaten! |

Don't forget about caravans and currently allowed "no arts" battles :)
When AP will work - there will be no way to up Thieves' Guild for free :)

I've been crashed by that very caravan too at CL6 =) It happens, as they say ;)
Far more important thing is to have some pretty basic set of artifacts at least. The TG fights at level 6 for a Knight are really stressing =)
That's about caravans, of course. No real problems with players, maybe except barbarians (those 10 ogres are already there ;) They hit you at their first turn already), but the artifacts would still let you be more certain about your victory. |
bah... lame ambush.. i got ambush yesterday. a lv 7 knight with paid acc, 52 swordsmen, 52 crossbowmen, 11 griffin, 4 recruiter with full set art.
well, i do wear some artifacts. but i wonder how to win with my troops 37 swordsmen, 31 bowmen, 11 griffin, 1 recruiter and 18 monk for assist.
er.. the total troops size already bigger than mine. i had manage to kill the thief until the last 45 swordsmen.
somehow, that thief put my name on his ambush list in personal information, i feel offended, it sounds like i m a loser :(
anyway, 'thief guild' should change to 'robber guild'. even IRL, there is no thief will jump out, intercept and attack you on travel way. only robber will do that LOL thief only sneak near the target and stole something without unknowing |

Caravans at 6-7 lvl is much easier then at 8 and you may defeat them without arts, so better start earlier as possible |
