Author | [News] Grand Update 2 |
Nope, didn't notice nothing. | Well, if the dwarves dwelled on a different continent, then why upgrade the stronghold in ST? which has no opening to the sea?
+
And if the threat was minimal, then why did Thutkra have a truly painful grimace on his face?
+
bearded pygmy creatures have infiltrated the nearby forests and are occasionally attacking our brave lords in their hunting expeditions!
===
Conclusion: Councilor Kalirosh is trying to protect the Empress on the bad (or good???) news that the bearded pygmy creatures are right next to us, plotting an invasion from one minute to the next one!!!
TO AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARMS!!!..... *sorry for the long string violation, couldn't abstain!:)* |

AMAZING! Finally a sober and interesting conclusion!!
Don't get me wrong, it's a totally wrong guess and that's not what happened ;) *cheesy smile* But that's the way I wanted people to think, like the first thing to think, when they would read the story =)
Very well now, surmises start pouring! | https://www.lordswm.com/forum_messages.php?tid=1890401&page=13
#275 KoMaP: then war with dwarves will begin? I still have time to sleep?)))

Invasion in the spring? | Oups, I've spelled Arctic's name wrong. Sorry mate! | Dang it, Arctic. Just when I was about to start on my first Survival and CG, you have to go and write something like that and get my interest and curiosity jumping all over the place ! haha..
Alrighty people, Arctic said a few days back -
I believe (and I daresay, require) that there are things to discuss in this thread https://www.lordswm.com/forum_messages.php?tid=1890401 concerning several very interesting occurrences in the game during this last day that for some reason have been left unnoticed/disregarded by the players.
and then just a few hours ago-
People, seriously, come on. You are boring me :-P
Nothing will happen until you give me at least one topic page of discussion.
So let's get our thinking cap on, read https://www.lordswm.com/forum_messages.php?tid=1890400 and start on that one topic page of discussion.! :) | for Arctic:

Does your link refers to this thread,
https://www.lordswm.com/forum_messages.php?tid=1890401
or this -
https://www.lordswm.com/forum_messages.php?tid=1890400 | To me they are one thing. You discuss the news in a different one simply because the original one is in a closed access forum. | Just some remarks:
* there is a LOT of emphasis put on the barbarian in the news; everyone else is hardly mentioned for one fact or two, while almost all narration has the barb under focus, even more than the Empress...
* something strange about that "curtain" of darkness that only the dark elf noticed. hard to believe that was reflecting the mood of the Empress, since this has never been noticed before, and I'd be surprised if that was the very first time the Empress was frowning (upset)... Given that only the dark elf noticed it, who is the master of underworld and dark magic, that could very well be a trace of some curse or dark spell on the Empress. especially that, as they said, the source of the blight is unknown. dark magic could explain it.
* "New creatures, dangerous ones, organized and threatening, appear on the borders, Dominix
Who is Dominix ? | Who is Dominix ?
You'll have to read "The Chronicles of skunder" :P | the source of the blight is unknown. dark magic could explain it.
Or she is haunted by a secret Necromancer force.
About those dwarf, maybe they learned a good lesson from our "sister Empire", and they are hiding, organizing, and even cooperating with our enemies. Silence is more dangrous.
#275 KoMaP: then war with dwarves will begin? I still have time to sleep?)))
#276 Acric: Do you mean you want to hibernate over the winter? ;)
Invasion in the spring? I read before winter or during winter from that. :p | I read before winter or during winter from that. :p
Yes, you'r right, is before the end of winter, not after. My bad.
Or she is haunted by a secret Necromancer force.
But why would the dark elf be the only one to sense it?
https://www.lordswm.com/forum_messages.php?tid=1847964:
w.r.t. dwarves: They wielded magic as well, skilled in both Holy and Chaotic Arts, as well as their own Rune magic.
What is Rune magic?
You'll have to read "The Chronicles of skunder" :P
Is too long :(
Anyone who read it cares to resume a bit who is Dominix and what is he doing there? (by PM, no need to clutter this here. thnx!) | [q]"New creatures, dangerous ones, organized and threatening, appear on the borders, Dominix. Before, the combined efforts of then-Warlord Kalirosh's troops and the Mercenaries' Guild forces were more than enough to hold this threat stable, more and more cases of neutral activity are left unattended."[/q]
It mean Kalirosh need help? Who to help?
[q]"Right. There is more to it. The military clan system that Your Majesty had conceived as a measure to increase the military potential of all seven factions, has now led to degradation. The Military clan leaders and their high-ranked members are much more willingly engaging in political clashes and influential disputes. Right, I am afraid that if that continues, they will soon forget how to unsheathe a blade! An alternative must be brought up immediately!"
"The Empire consists of many layers, many aspects and elements, your Majesty, but in the end, there is no Empire without the rule", the elven diplomat concluded. [/q]
military clan? :S
[q] The Empress seemed animated and willing to act, just as they had hoped. A heap of scrolls migrated from the tallboy towards the bed. The councilors presented new reformation projects, argued with each other and took up others' arguments. Some projects were rejected, while others, accepted and even emphasized on. It was decided that, despite the recommendations from the Academy caretakers, the Empress, taking the opportunity of Her well-being, would honour the Central Square just outside the palace with Her presence on the morrow, when the changes would be announced. [/q]
They start to plan and prepare?
[q]The Empress frowned. As She did, councilor Kh'Everst remarked clearly how the light in the room went out a little, as if a dark curtain had been cast on the window.
Kh'Everst inspected the faces of his colleagues but didn't find any indications that anyone else made the same observation. He decided to share it later with Bilir.[/q]
councilor Kh'Everst and Bilir, what will they found?
I understood the story corrcetly? :S | Sorry, I meant to say this (wrong link above):

Alright, feels like I need to comment on this one.
In my concept of the military structure of the Empire, there are military forces, which are not us =) (Look at Kalirosh for example to get an idea about what those forces are. https://www.lordswm.com/pl_info.php?id=4508656 )
Us are lords, the nobility layer of population who can recruit certain amount (pretty low actually) of the troops according to out leadership skills (combat level etc). We use those forces to our leisure, we hunt and participate in tournaments etc.
This phrase meant that when a threat arises, the lords are summoned to battle, partially through the MG.
This concept was laid out in "The Trial" news block when things like "regular armies" and "lords also must be summoned to war" were first narrated. That's what those noisy horns are for ;-) Of course I understand that there was not enough written about it so far, so I will include more hints about this consistution of military power in the next news block.
PS: For now, Dominix is the way Kh'Everst addresses the Empress. Chronicles of Skunder simply answer the question Why. At this point there is not much more about it. | My bad :S | Us are lords, the nobility layer of population who can recruit certain amount (pretty low actually)
Actually? So we sometimes in the future, we will able to have similer count of troops? :)) | Why would you think that? Pretty low compared to all the military forces there are in the Empire which we have no relation to anyway =) Its just for the sake of news having verisimilitude :P | My theory based on events so far...
The Councilors, frustrated by the Empress' absence and spurred by her lack of an heir, have banded together (except for KH'erst) and forged a conspiracy. They plot to overthrow the Empress and take the throne. As part of this, they have afflicted her with either a poison or some dark magic that makes her ill. KH'erst is the only one who took notice because he is the only one who is not part of the conspiracy. I suspect that once he mentions what he noticed to Bilir, he will either be brought into the conspiracy, or killed.
Perhaps the Councilors have also forged a secret alliance with the Dwarves, who secretly stand ready to invade once the Councilors give the word. This is why they are reported as still being on another continent.
Once the Councilors have sufficient weakened the Empress, they will strike and call in the Dwarves. It will be up to us, the nobility, to take up arms and defend our Empress and Empire against the Dwarves and the Councilors. Perhaps KH'erst will survive and be able to assist us in some way... | "One last thing. I do believe I must speak of the following. As some of you have undoubtedly recollected over the last few months, I have no heir..."

Maybe the Empress knows more than she says.. Or it's the spreading of darkness magic in the Empire (Spell area for negative effect mass spells has been changed to 5x5 battlefield tiles.)
There might be some mind control spells in action (darkness magic level 5) and a poison spell.
Maybe the dwarfs try to manipulate the Empress to invade us without fighting.
They also manipulated all councilors except Kh'Everst. They don't want us to notice them.
My theory |
