well, 75k for fsp on factions without a castle seems like a bargain to me! at level 15 building castle costs around a million! i've almost reached elf 5 during the POT and elf tournament! |

I think calling this unqualified 'free FSP' is wrong as Derelict pointed out. I have some bones about 'cheap FSP' too. It is cheap if you will never play a particular faction 'full-time' since you don't have to build the castle.

I agree with Derelict that this is expensive if you intend to play the faction regularly (this is a contradiction in itself since you can't play the faction regularly without the castle anyway, but bear with me). The amortised costs would be less if you build the castle (this, again, is a contradiction since you will have to build the castle as previously stated. Thus, (cost of playing regularly) = (cost of building castle) + (PoT) => min(cost of playing regularly) = (cost of building castle)).
So, this is 'cheap FSP for alt factions'? Is 'alt faction' a valid term or can it be logically and semantically derived from the current existing set of valid terms. I will leave this thought experiment for someone else :) |

Context very much matters here. It'd be cheap to one but expensive to others.
It is cheap to me because I have no plans to use my gold to build castles. It is very cheap in short term but is expensive in long term.
I'm sure gmt also meant "free" as in short term not in long term. Using 75k gold to earn decent fsp looks a very good bargain to me as compared to 1 million (assuming gmt correctly calculated) to earn the same.
Also most players who play PoT with their unbuilt factions generally want to build some faction resistance against that faction which is useful in PvP fights.

You're mixing long term goals with short term goals. Maybe I dont want/feel the need to build a particular castle but that doesn't mean I wouldn't mind using some gold to build a faction resistance as it certainly is "cheaper" than building a whole castle (which Im not even sure I'd play with or not).
But in your context it may be expensive because you intend to build all castles in near future.

40 FSP in Elf , 50 FSP in Wiz and some more in Necro
Doing hunts , 40 FSP in Elf = 40 Successful hunts
Doing hunts, 50 FSP in Wiz = 50 Successful hunts
To do successful hunts in Elf at HG 5 , I need atleast till Unicorns ignoring MG2 and EFK upgrade
Cost for that = 51K
To do successful hunts in Wiz at HG 5 will 0 FSL, I would need upto MG2 and we can maybe ignore ench.garg and consider using more than min AP to win hunts,
Cost for that = 80K (not so sure)
Total cost for 90 FSP through Hunts = 100K+
In this event,
30 AP set cost = 30K+ (Damn, didn't know I spend this much :O)
So is 30K free ? No !
Is it cheap ? On its own, no. But on considering buying castle for Wiz and Elf, yes
Time factor :
Event -> 8 days
Castle -> Time taken for collecting money + Time for winning that many hunts(considering atleast 10-20% losses due to low FSL)
So, all in all event is faster,a bit cheaper way to earn FSP than toiling through process of building castle etc.
Agreed that, when you DO plan to play that faction normally, the total cost would be 130K+ but by the time you get around to 100K+, 30K+ shouldn't matter much. |

as usual i didn't get any element loot but got two 7/7 arts :)
i was wrong at beginning of this PoT, i thought they ruin PoT match like they did in Elf event. but i was wrong since no need of crafted art it is awesome event. Thanks to admin and LWM team :P |

Barely. In my case (explained in post 254) I spent 30K. I don't think I will be able to sell my art back at that price or even close to that price.
Same would apply for the top winners too. Considering the top 30 in the list get the same art with the same dura, why would there be a demand for something of which there exists 30 copies ? It would be costly, but not near enough to cover the price spent in the event. |
