And leadership is way better than luck.
Hmm I'd have to go with ipslne too here.
I too have tried rally + basic leadership as well as advanced fortune + basic leadership, but so far have found expert fortune to be the most useful. The 8 extra efks from rally, for example, really isn't worth giving up luck for IMO. As for +2 luck +1 morale from talents, you can always get extra morale point by wearing a medal if you really need it (remember it's cheaper than an amulet).
Both of you completely missed my point. Because luck costs 7 and leadership 10 it's better to choose luck over rally. However if the cost would be the same (like I assume it is for the knight faction), then leadership would be a better option.
Simplifying the facts let's assume that the extra hit you get from leadership will do the same damage as the difference between a lucky hit and an unlucky one. Also, let's assume luck and leadership show up equally often.
The extra hit from leadership allows you to change the position of your new attack AND for the bowmen you will get 2 new hits, not just one. In order for the luck to be as effective you have to have 100% luck, and that's not the case.

and for lvl 8 my personal favorite is adv luck+ basic leadership( add the 2 morale rings and hunts against missile troops will be much easier will the efk reaching them :) ) |
mrwhite -- Yes if they cost the same Rally would likely be better because you would have the option of getting +1 Luck as well (assuming they all cost 7). In the case that they both cost 10; than Rally would be better. That's why I advocate that at Level 7, where you choose between +2 luck and Rally... Rally is the better option. |

For knights Lead. costs 7 points, Luck - 10.

Depends on player, really ;) I found +2 luck more useful - for hunts, ambush and PvP. |
Anyone has some tips for a level 6 elf against the monster-mercernary missions?
First i declined most of them because they only give 50 exp, but now i need those mercernary points to level up my merc guild
So can anyone give me a little help how i should do it?
bcz 25 att, 25 def and 2000 hp isnt easy :P |
Without having played elf since lvl 1 my bet would be that you need sprites to pull it of. So advanced fortune, a luck amulet and two morale rings maybe together with rapid with at least spell power 1. That should do the job against low init./non-ranged monsters. The shooting and high init. monsters I would still let pass by if I was you. |

all the monsters have at least 12 ini, so hit and run is impossible |
sven, i say leave thoose monsters alone, atleast from my own experience as once a lvl 6 elf :)
wait untill lvl 7 |
They give less exp (50) and a merc point, i wanted to try if i could reach merc guild 2 at level 6 =)

It is possible, but very difficult |
for Sven91:
You're better off accepting ranged unit monsters for the moment. At level 6, that's not very hard IMO. Tier 1 unit monster shouldn't be too hard either. For all else (like the one above yo posted), it will be quite challenging. |
At level 7 most of the lvl 0 monster missions are fairly easy. At level 6 you MIGHT be able to beat a ranged monster by splitting up your bows and waiting until it runs out of shots. Then use your remaining bows to take retal when it approaches. And use FKs. Sprites will die too quickly.
And for a different request; I just joined the Thief's Guild. I could use a few pointers for a good elf set up. So far I cannot beat any of the demon caravans. All the others have proven difficult still. |
And for a different request; I just joined the Thief's Guild.
First, I'd go with fewer bows and more Sprites. Reason being they die fast as every caster hero will reduce it no use in their 1st turn. Also having more sprites gives you a chance to kill of more stacks faster as caravans are usually packed with many smaller stacks.
I've found the combo of efks+sprites to kill of many stacks within their 1 turn very useful. So try something like 24|46|18|7|6 or 27|46|16|7|6 -- they're so far the most popular set I've seen being used. I know you believe Sprites have low dmg/hp but consider this: with this setup total hp of sprites+bows will be 324 and 322 respectively compared to the total sprites+bows hp of 256 of your current set up. And that's about 70 hp difference which can lose or win you an ambush especially considering bows will not last long anyway.
As for specific demon caravans, I think it's useful to split a stack of efk into 1 to take retal (because Devils cause crazy damage). You will have to take the risk of not covering your bows fully in anticipation of a devil, but trust me it will be worth it. I've tried both methods and have seen this work better against Demons. |
Zyanya--
Thank you for your suggestion. That actually does sound like a much better recruit. Usually I have that set up for the escort Merc Missions; which prove to be very helpful. I'll have to give that a shot ;)
And yeah... I'm not liking Devils so much.
Also, any idea what would be the most common favored enemy to have for ambushes? I would like to make my favored enemy the most dangerous of NPC caravans... but if I happen to come across any players; they are likely to not have those creatures yet. |

Actually that's what I ended up doing after trying out all several types. I know the chance to encounter a higher tier unit is less compared to others, but so far it's worked out well for me. Perhaps other elf thieves have better ideas...
but if I happen to come across any players; they are likely to not have those creatures yet.
True, but player ambushes are very easy for elves. We'd likely kill them before they do any decent damage unless you come across a fully arted and/or double victims. But those are rare, so I think you should choose favoured enemy having caravans in mind. |
Alright, that makes sense. The only PvP I ambush I have had so far was against a fully arted DE, which did not go over too well. |
what r the best artsfor 6 and 7 lev? |

take that sword at level 6
Its not the cheapest combination, but its good
2 attack, 2 defence and 2% initative
Only downside, it takes almost 2 hours to repair it >.> |

i think using defender shield and Steel blade and another thing with 1 Ap like leather armor . you will get +2 att and +4def and you will lose less gold using Equilibrium blade ;) .
i use 2 sets . hunting set : defender shield + luck amulet and wooden sword.
PVP set defender shield + leather armor and steel blade . |
by the way whats the cheapest combination ? |
cheapest set for lvl 6 would be defender shield + light axe + leather armor for a net gain of +2att and +3def for cost of 58 gold per battle, but I deem the following combination slightly better:
defender shield + reprisal sword for a total of 61 gold per battle with +2att and +4def |
