remember that the level it rest to depends on:
- your combat level (which just got higher)
- the number in the brackets after the caravan type (example {13})
to MathProfessor: Really? All caravans that I ever seen was [10].
If you see some other caravan, can you pls post it here?

Just to be sure, i've checked some combat logs.

Two barbs. One of them is a full time min ap thief, the other one uses full art.

here are combat reps of these two guys just after they leveled up to 10.
It's the first time they meet this caravan.

Is it me or do both of these caravans seem ridiculously easy? Maybe it's a barb thing?
A long post, hopefully someone will find interesting info below :)

Finished TG2 on 13th day

Started as 6 lvl barb with 0 skill, doing some MG and some hunts after losing from caravan, atm skill is:
Barbarian: 4 (178.34) +101.7 :)

Started in min AP, but quickly found out that:
- ambush anywhere else except Capital <-> Yellow Lake takes much time
- at this same path there is high chance of ambushing human heroes.

all in all 27% of my fight were vs human players! Which was helpful, winning vs them is easier (see stats below)

So i Started to ambush in "semi-full" set (equil. blade, hauberk, medal of bravery, leather armour), thus way I had enough OA to win vs human player if he is not with full set.
At 7lvl got new steel armours and sword of Might - tho I used it only for last 20 points - which is when i went with full sets (with 1 ring of inspiration)

So, the interesting part - stats:

205 fights, 120 wins, 58.5%

vs People 39/47 83%, most of my losses were in beginning (0 or 1 faction skill and/or low AP)

vs 2 People 2/8 25% - by luck, once 1 hero never moved, the other time 1 of heroes was with just 1 demon :)

vs Caravans 79/150 52.7%

By Fraction as follows:
Knights 8/13
Wizards 12/29
Elves 10/15
Dark Elves 13/23
Barbs 14/26
Demons 12/24
Necro 10/20

The army setup which I found best suiting my style (but its still good setup ;) )
At 7th lvl (6th was similar, just lower numbers), talents - Offense + Fury
73 hobs - for damage
15 Wolf Riders
37 Orcs
10 Ogres

Wolf Riders (at lvl 7 - 15) - very good for reaching enemy on first move, killing mages or blocking shooters. Also caravans attack them first which gives some time for hobs and ogres.

Normal setup vs caravans except Wizards:
Army is in the left-low corner:

1 hob
36 hobs
18 orcs
15 WF ; 19 orcs; 36 hobs ; 10 ogres

This way fast caravan attackers can't reach on first move, they go onto orcs direct shot. Hobs do most damage, but battle is won by ogres - they are the last stack standing (or not)

vs Wizards i get wolves in center-bottom and army on right-center or left-center. But on 7th lvl when lots of iron golems come into battle it was much harder due to unlimited retal :(

vs humans - depends on what I see in enemy battle log/army
After the new updates(overall) which of the two factions is better off, as ambusher..

This is going crazy, suffering 6 ambushes in 3 days just doing normal MGs... Including 2 double ambushes, one taking place right now in BG <-> YL..

3 YL-GC
1 YL-MC
1 YL-BG

Nowhere is safe :(
it's normal.
thief sets ambushes where players travels: all destinations close to yellow lake (except misty coast maybe)
and thieves activity is very high now due to TGI race before 1st december.
I believe that there is also more thiefing going on.
Many people try to reach the breack point before december 1st.
Things should become a bit more quiet after that date.
The roads are especially dangerous these days... nearly all thieves are wearing full arts in their rush to TG 2 or 4. I was one of them too. :D
Markussk: so, first reasonable sentences....and i finish my race against time just now, in 10 days. So, you could now view my profile without "fear" my czech ;-)

i was thinking little about, but sure more time needed....

first, you see enemy caravans same as with hunts, you could see there:
for example few cyclops, lots of orcs, hoard of goblins, pack of ogres
(exact numbers are for disccusion)

so, you know your enemy, you could choose right equipment, or talents etc.
so, you use tactic, not random

if you think, its too strong, you could pass it; just say, which thief attack someone in suicide attack?
so, you could pass, but you have to then waite some time for another chance.

no difference betweem victory or defeat in waiting time; just as long your units recover (overall discussion)

then i think, it could be there more types of caravans, lets some easy ones, designed for not experienced players, but lets say only 0,25 point for thief guild; or designed for experineced players with full art for example for 2 points. again for disccusion as idea

then you choose fight, you will see computers setup and you will place your units after them, same as with hunt, so again, about tactic, not about random

and the part with human vs human....

pvp is often problem, because there could be many inbalance, i think it could be done this way:
player could choose, if wish fight with thieves, or not. If not, he cant be attacked, if yes, then thief hunter could be attacked of course. And no fights two against one.
Of course, here is setup hidden for both.

So, what do you think?

one notice at the end: dont have many objections against difficulty; only rarely it isnt playable (show me someone, who with universal settings at level could beat 7 demons)
small correction at the end, not demons, but devils ;-)
to Ssgsd: All your sugestions are ridiculously for me. You just want to decrease dificulty of ambushes.
See the setup of caravan? Players can choose if they will be ambushed or not? Passing too strong caravans?

With these changes anyone can win all ambushes that he starts. It is gona be too boring...

If you dont like current options, dont ambush. It is so easy ;)
