Hmm, I do see that the battle ends with them being challenged. I will need to find one of my own battles in response.
Ok, it seems to be a graphics bug.

211 vs 383, where 211/383 is about 55%, or a 45% dmg reduction.

It’s convenient that archangels have a zero damage spread. :)
Why do I have a negative luck in today's battle? And sometimes negative morale too. Is there any bug here or am I doing anything wrong?

best guess is you went afk in a battle and got -2 luck penalty from that
while perhaps a waste I just remembered that the tritons challenge meaning the challenged enemy does 45% less damage I think lasts after the tritons death.

As such against an army where there is one single danger stack it may be worth sacrificing a single divided triton to challenge it just for the 45% debuff
I started using full arts at level 6 and still lost 6th and 7th main battle. I think in this event the only way to progress is to do both secondary battles for crystals and armaments on a specific level first and then try to win main battle on a same level. Only exception being 'glory battles', which I do only if I need glory..

I went for custodians first. Using spirit bond they can convey all mass buffs to kappas and ichthies, which can rush ahead immediately. In return, custodians are getting waves of renewal from kappas and ichthies. This way all positive effects and buffs are spread across the battlefield. I think this is good combo for early battles, up to level 10.

I don't plan to progress much further. Right now, I am at lvl 9 and my balance shows -6133 gold for this event.
fights are pretty easy if you go for coral priestesses upgrade first then upgraded leapers into other shooter/their upgrade. ignore icthys till the end. only use for them is to apply forocious wound for -3 speed in target
Patience is key with this event

I'm at 14, 14,13,17 all in min ap. Mostly waiting till tomorrow so current stacks can get bigger with the gold and glory saved sir far. I think I've could still push further in min ap, but chances of a loss are not insignificant now so better to wait. Hopefully I don't leave too many battles for later, though a reasonable end date so should be ok....

I have not checked yet about having multiple spirit ties, the implication from this is that you can. If so this is nice since upgraded custodians share lifeguard membrane when they do that as well.

I think next upgrade is the shooters then to have a better shot at getting ranged advantage, allowing a full bid before a counter attack on them advancing.

for Another Player: thanks for taking the time to check, is long known the challenge visually stated active, just never put the time in to check the numbers to see if they matched.
Just checked and as I thought, you can only have ties to one stack at a time. However, I think I will split a stack of custodians to stay at the back with shooters as then can buff the back stacks and all the advancing troops get them. It also means those same 3 main melee stacks get 15% less damage and do 10% of incoming from mirror. Worth having a slightly smaller custodians stack for(which are pretty good retal takers as invariably they are not focused, and then the waves of renewal they get from tired stack usually heals then back up to fill again)
Re profit for comparison currently I'm at 66 battles at a cost per battle of 867 making a total cost of 57222. Total gold earned is 72053 meaning a profit of 14831. As the event progresses the gold rewards per level will increase, though at some point so will the cost of the arts I use. These may roughly balance each other out.

This however is without considering the ancillary benefits of the guild levels etc, leaders troops, artifact reward at the end etc. Also one is getting more gold from enrolls sure to easy to get max wage places available. All this means to me is that with a bit of thought events should be at worse break even, but overall in profit considering the totality.
For Lord MilesTeg: Yes I do split custodians because only one tie per stack is possible. But I often don't keep them in the back. It depends on situation. The stacks of custodians only need to be all within the range of mass spell. I am amazed you are able to work with min arts. I am spending 1400 gold per combat on CL 13.
It depends how heavy you rely on shooters.

I think I will make another split custodians stack for ties to priestess so they get the 15% debuff but also makes it easier to get all stacks buffed even when advancing etc. Typically there use one of the main stacks that didn't get the benefit.
Reviewing again it has to be tritons over a second shooter. The superior damage output, numbers, hp, unlimited retal and challenge make then the better choice.

I used D build for all the battles. Sharks are my main damage outputs. Kappas leap attacks are free damages. So I try to preserve them as much as possible. Custodians are perfect for absorbing counter attacks. Maidens foot-cutting skill is awesome.

This is the first time the PoT Marine faction is available for play, right? I really look forward to try the only remaining PoT faction, PoT necro, next time.

I know right, every battle I play I move troops, then click attack, sometimes defend sometimes cast a spell. Every time they make the battles the same.

It's just so annoying.

Sure I guess every so often they let us play with troops that we cannot normally use and have never used before.

But still same, same, same.
