Celestials deal 157 damage to Celestials.
Celestials deal 86 damage to Praetorians. 2 perish.
Celestials deal 87 damage to Praetorians. 3 perish.
24 Attacking Celestials: 55 attack, 51-52 damage.
Attacked Celestials: 84 defence.
6% melee resistance
Expected damage without Praetorians: 24 * (51-52) * (0.94) /2.45 = (469 - 478)
Actual damage = 157 = 471/3
Also, the main stack has its damage reduced by 67% when 2 Praets are near it, and by 75% when 3 are near it. Sounds correct. Hard to explain though.
Simplest extension would be that if n praets are nearby, damage becomes 1/(n+1).
This must have been coded up explicitly, since any logical extension would have 75% damage reduction with just 2 praetorians nearby.
24 Attacking Celestials: 55 attack, 51-52 damage.
Praetorians have 73 defense.
20% ranged resistance from arts. 25% ranged resistance from shields.
Expected direct damage to praetorians = 24 * 51-52 * 0.75 * 0.8 / 1.9 = 386 - 393
Actual damage = 86-87
I have no explanation of how damage to praetorians is calculated in this case. It's not 1/4th as with just 1 praetorians, and either is it 1/3*1/2 or 2/3*1/2. | Has been verified from the two battle links discussed.
Single Praetorian
Seraphs deal 49 damage to Praetorians. 2 perish.
Seraphs deal 177 damage to Vestals. 7 perish.
Damage To Vestals = N * R(min, max) / [1 + 0,05*(D-A)] = 8 * 54 (0.9) / (1.1) = 353
Percentage reduction = [1 - (177/353)] * 100 = 50%
2 Praetorian
Outriders deal 49 damage to Praetorians. 1 perish.
Outriders deal 166 damage to Beaming spirits. 2 perish.
Outriders deal 49 damage to Praetorians.
Damage to spirits = N * R(min, max) * [1 + 0,05 (A-D) ] * [1 - 3*Y/100] = 298 * 3 * 1.35 * 0.94 = 1134.48
Modifiers (Artifact and Out of range) = 1134.48 * 0.88 * 0.5 = 499
Percentage reduction = [1 - (166/499)] * 100 = 66.67%
3 Praetorian
Outriders deal 24 damage to Praetorians. 1 perish.
Outriders deal 108 damage to Beaming spirits. 1 perish.
Outriders deal 24 damage to Praetorians. 1 perish.
Outriders deal 24 damage to Praetorians. 1 perish.
Damage to spirits = N * R(min, max) * [1 + 0,05 (A-D) ] * [1 - 3*Y/100] = 259 * 3 * 1.35 * 0.94 = 986
Modifiers (Artifact and Out of range) = 1134.48 * 0.88 * 0.5 = 433.85
Percentage reduction = [1 - (108/433)] * 100 = 75%
Thus it can be concluded that the target stack receives N/(N+1)% reduced Damage. Where N is the number of Praetorians adjacent to it.
Now wonder if we can solve the final piece of this puzzle, the damage received by multiple Praetorians xD | N/(N+1)% reduced Damage.
The damage is reduced by a factor of N/(N+1) | Alright!
Found this pattern from the same combat links.
The Praetorians receive only 50% of the damage as stated in the description (This is 50% of the damage the Praetorian receives directly as if hit by a ranged attack)
The damage reduction from the ability scales as 1/(N+1)
Where N is the number of Praetorians adjacent to the target stack.
1 Praet = 1/(1+1)*0.5 = 0.25
2 Praet = 1/(1+2)*0.5 = 0.167
3 Praet = 1/(1+3)*0.5 = 0.125
Conclusion:
The target stack reduces incoming damage by N/(N+1)
The Praetorians reduces damage by [1/(N+1)]*0.5 (The Praetorians receive damage directly as if hit by a ranged attack)
Where N is the number of Praetorians adjacent to the target stack.
