(for other MGs, such as vanguards, armies) the crit is still only on those units that you selected, same for STs. Hence why you can have a crit on anglerfish in a hunt (cause in hunts whatever you fight, it is favoured), but if an anglerfish appears in an ST, you cannot crit it. The only exception for automaticly selected as crits in hunts raids or monsters, is if the unit you are fighting is elven, for example, if you are hunting unicorns, you wont crit them. Hope this clears it all up :)
