AuthorAbout UCI - Purchase
Apparently, he won't play a game if he has to pay. What's wrong with that? He did pick one of those.

If you make an oath such as "I will save as much money as possible, spending only when forced to", what's wrong with that? As I pointed above, creators/copyright owners/developers each have their own way to fund their work. So what can possibly be wrong about one only seeking freebies? He doesn't need to explain himself, and your curiosity enters his privacy (it's a personal choice of his). It would be like going to another table in a restaurant and ask "why are you eating mashed potatoes when you could have the lobster?"

Perhaps this discussion may benefit with the input of others.
Topic moved from "Queries and help" to "General game forum".
There is nothing wrong on that. being responsable on management of personal finances and saving money is a sign of wisdom in my books.
However what feeded my curiosity was his 'oath' to not expend money in games. I am not trying to dictate the 'proper behavior' I am merely trying to understand a different point of view than mine, and the best way to learn something new from a different pespective would be by having a open mind, exposing an argument and then listening the counter argument. Otherwise how it would be possible to get into a conclusion or even perhaps notice that I was wrong, if I take myself to have all the absolute answers from everything?

From my experience however, the people that I know that speaks about games, as it's something 'inferior,' they're always people who didn't had the chance to be included on the digital tecnology, people who doesn't understand how to use a computer and of course... People who never actually played games, or at least good ones. The arguments are generally about "games are made for kids, and adults shouldn't be playing them." If somehow someone does play games at the adulthood, he supposely to be somehow, somekind of lesser humanbeing/lesser man with less quality. Another common argument is "games does not contain educational content, or anything that would ever resemble a worthy quality for something." In other words, they say games all games does have a crap quality.

Well, about that, let me bring my own opinion for the matter.
I've the chance to experience games with a really beutiful art quality, ranging from the images/videos display to even how a message,UI,text, building level structure would be portraited, with a such atention to details that would make some paints that worth a few thousand of hundrends look like that was made by a kid if compared.
Writting quality? Of course there is games that creates wonderful worlds that are as good as reading books itself, if not better, since the history shift based on the player actions at some degree. It does range from many different tastes as well, for whom look for a grandiose story line or whom is searching for a more realistic pespective as 'you're just a human, not a god incarnation,' although those are rarer to find, or perhaps a silly romance, or a history of a personal tragedy...
Educational content? Let me see, with a game such as nobunaga ambition I could learn a little about the japanese history, same would apply for crusader kings 2 as for medieval history for the western, perhaps I would feel more likely learning about arquitects? The sims games would allow me to build my own sketchs about houses, apartments, that I could very well use to my own living or for a investment aimed to either build and sell, or build and rent. Maybe I do want to grasp a little about evolution process, then there's a few biology based games such as plague inc. Perhaps I want to understand the basic obligations of politicans and how they administrate their revenue made by taxes and the overall consequences, then democracy 3 so it's. And so on, and so fort.

Since, I honestly do not understand the point of view, that "games are inferior and does not worth money," (which is the reason of my original argumentation, perhaps someone could show me, how wrong I am?) and I do know that quality/worth is subjective. I am coming from the following context "Hey, guys I am gonna do expend the next decade into a personal project about my character development on this GAME." Well... If someone is willing to expend a decade on something, then it does worth something for him, doesn't?
Then you've my reason of my original post.

As my final note, I just wanted to say that...
We're a very sociable specie and we do assimilate a lot things like a sponge.
I know people whom their paretns were racist about people's color, and their childrens also became racists, even without never actually having a close contant/talking
with them. So, with that in mind... If all my friends, if the mans that seems to be sucefull or influent, if my parents, if my vision of society that is my everday and mirros the world opinion (even if it isn't the world overall opinion per say, just local.), if everyone does says that "games are not worthy" then wanting it or not, the consequences would be a indirect stigamatization of the social behavior from the said person, which would be less willing to freely expose his/her fellings towards something, that is in some extect considerated as a taboo.

And by the way, about the lobster... It could be many things, it could be a recomendation, it could be a local chef recipe, it could be that it ressemble a food adored that a familiary made on this person childhood...
But in 90%+ of the cases, it would simply be because someone cannot affort to eat lobster everyday at each dinner.
for Awesome 13:

lets race for it mate.. but I may cheat a bit and get some roulette bonus.. 47.000 enrolls seems a bit too much ;)
for Lord Syrian:

Sorry but that lobster comparison is really dumb but you are right about one thing -that action would actually be invasion of privacy. However, In this case the player doesn't seem concerned about his privacy (based on his recent post that went about divulging unnecessary details pertaining to his personal economic circumstances) but its interesting that you have used that argument to halt this conversation.

I hate to carry on about this but just for clarification, it really seemed like a strongly biased viewpoint (i'm talking about the oath thing) and while i do not have the right or concern to judge an online player or their background for having such a bias, i thought it was a good idea to point it out so that the player in question gets some sort of prompt to reconsider. Perhaps and seemingly, stigmatization of online gaming was a factor that conditioned this viewpoint and if there is some truth to this then what we have is definitely not an honorable oath :p
Awesome, there's someone in A&D with the same goal, and ahead of you by 3kk+ gold, so you better get busy with those enrolls ;)

Aside from that, how come it seems all threads on these forums end up with people accusing each other and calling them stupid etc... we're all here just to enjoy the game right? Let other people have their opinions, and keep the forums clean please.

I think it's fine if someone doesn't want to donate. It's up to admins to decide if you *must* pay, or if you can pay for free. And they have decided that you can play for free if you like. So I'm pretty much with Syrian here on that it's a personal choice. Anyways, for the donators to get to top 10% in events and feel good about themselves, there needs to be those who don't donate as well ;) (ok donating doesn't guarantee that you're among the best but you get benefits like DU anyway, maybe you get the point...)
Seriously spend 15 years of dedicated enrolling just for 1500 diamonds? Are you serious? xD

Dude if you want it THAT bad just buy it. In North America it takes about a week for most to earn that much, and honestly no matter where you live, if you can afford internet to enroll 14 hours a day you can most likely make that much a month at most. That's 180 times faster, and take my advice, if you spend that much effort on your job you will probably get a lot more promotions/bonuses/etc.

So no, what you are saying is absolutely impractical(solely with enrolls).
In general however, if you earn more gold using let's say trading expensive arts and stuff it's far more practical. If you have a lot of gold to invest(idk how, loans maybe) you can probably make 3 million or more just with trading, plus there are your enrolls... possible to get enough money in about 5 years or less, however, again for that you need FULL time dedication, and honestly you are insane if you would not rather do a job and earn that in a couple of weeks :P
My views are.

Chill bro. Don't take it so seriously.
It was just a simple question for which I got the answer.

So thank you for that and don't think too much :)

Oh wow. Can you please tell me the player

Hallion is probably who you are looking for.
for Awesome 13:
Sorry if I sounded rude, didn't mean to :P
My point was basically that you need a LOT of patience to do it, and personally I will not be able to be so patient, so if you think you have that much patience and perseverance then go for it! :)
a LOT of patience I would multiply the "willpower" by at least five.

__

This kind of journey could be interesting though, this kinda of discipline could help in a lot of different areas in RL.
Sorry if I sounded rude, didn't mean to :P

Oh god, come on. We are just pointing each of our views. :) Nothing else.

And I'm not saying it is wrong to donate or wrong not to donate.

Everyone has their own views on playing, nothing else.

I totally agree that we should try to help the admins who are trying to develop the games. But it's just my style to do so.

a LOT of patience I would multiply the "willpower" by at least five.

Just something that I want to try.

And my biggest reason not to donate is - I'm a very NON DEDICATED person towards games.

My EX profiles - ravicool333 ravicool33 ravicool3 harshitshah13 harshitshah1993 harshitshah93 awesome1993 awesome13 awesome1309.

I have so many ex abandoned profiles that I don't even remember. Best one was I think
https://www.lordswm.com/pl_info.php?id=6469942

Then i applied for BOW.

So I'm just playing this game in the moment, when I get bored of doing everything, who knows I might even give up this profile.

I play for fun, i have patience, I enjoy in my own way. Nothing else. HOMM is my fav. Infact I did purchase HOMM 5 DVD for the PC game but that was once.
Have purchased gems in HUGO TROLL WARS. and used some money in Criminal Case.

So all after that I just stopped using money for these things.
Not for savings or anything, it's just my thinking not to use money in these stuff.

Truth said, I would stop playing this game if in future they make a way that you have to donate something to continue, (unless if it is of a specific small amount and I don't get bored to continue- then I might donate).

And as of UCI through gold, it's not something for 15 years or anything, it is a very short term short about 5-7 years if you play properly enjoying the aspects of game.

Infact I'm even purchasing ABC, so that it's not like I'm only doing LG and HG, I'm playing this game in my own fun way like how I want. :)
Good determination, so the only question is, whether this game will alive for another 10 years...And..You yourself alive for more than 10 years ..

What the future holds, we will never know

Haha, right :)
You can buy UCI with gold bought diamonds but:
- You might get to the lowest priority when designer are doing the actual job (I don't remember they have a time limit to do the job)
- Expect inflation on UCI price it's 1500 diamonds... today

BTW all my alt bought TGI with diamond bought from gold.
Haters gonna hate
I play for fun, i have patience, I enjoy in my own way. Nothing else

Just make sure you stick to this and do whatever you want. :)
for Lord MathProfessor:

cool, thanks.
