Some mods just try to pretend that they're active to get the free gold, so they gotta find a fast victim to ban and then crawl back in their cave again. | If you have something to complain, either fill a complaint or PM secretary. | "Damn the dark elves invaders!"
I will never forget this statement :) | https://www.lordswm.com/forum_messages.php?tid=1915194&page=1900
here's an example :) | when you use this word while addressing others, possibly some can be offended
maybe for that reason, some mods warn players. | i cant give links..the thread has more than 40k posts.but i've been banned a considerable no. of times ... erm, you have actual received very few bans (single figures), and none because of this word. In fact you have only ever had one ban for foul language.
Many rules are slightly relaxed in OGF but foul language is not normally one of them. In general if someone would not use a certain word while speaking to a child / their mother / boss / etc. then they should not be surprised if people take offence at a generally accepted "offensive word".
Regarding random battle text quotes from AI, they are usually just repeating what has been said in previous battles and I guess the admins could filter these out but it would require considerable work and I further guess people would still find ways around it.
If a human uses foul language in a battle with other humans then they can still face fines, or worse, which is a lot harsher than the usual short warning bans most people get in forums.
Personally, I don't believe I ever have or would give a ban for the word given in post #1 but then again it would always depend on context etc.
Overall I feel mods achieve a good balance between allowing posters to express themselves as they wish and not exposing others to inappropriate content.
oh, and always remember children (& mothers) DO play here too. lol ;) | damn! what is going on here ? | I'll be damned if I knew..

here's an example :)
Didnt the poster damn a mod? Why would someone damn a mod or anyone for that matter. If there is someone who can damn me, its me and no one else. Although I hardly give a damn if someone damns me because damning a person is something everyone likes to do...especially small kids.
For eg:
"I didn't get a raise. Damn you boss!"
"Ohh man, school again. Damn you Jesus!"
"Damnity dam damn, there is watery water everywhere on the floor."
"Damn he didnt get me candies"
"Damn there is no santa :("
But again not everyone likes to be damned and it is better to not damn everyone you see before checking your privilege. Sometimes you can get fined by Police for slander over this too especially in America.
"HE DAMNED ME OFFICER. HE DAMNED ME!!"
Police can issue a ticket for this.
The correct way to damn someone is asking them before expressing your anger or surprise.
"Hello my dear boss, is it in my privilege to damn you once today for 7am meeting please?"
If he/she says yes then go ahead, damn the damn out of them. If they say no then no, you dont have to be sad. You can always damn god. Actually the creation of God was just so people could put their blames and anger on him. No repercussions will come out of it. You can damn god any day, any hour, any minute, any second. And the best part is ITS TOTALLY FREE.
Feeling sad? Dont be, just damn the god.
Feeling angry? Damn the god.
Excited? Damn the god.
Sick? Uhh..just damn the god.
In fact my obsession over this word is so much that I am going to suggest a "Repercussions free Damnday" in my office in my next damned 7am meeting with my damn boss.
Damn, this was sooo long. Sorry, I will be damned if I get banned! | lol :P |
